"What do you think Morgana, this one?" Arthur asked while looking at the many, many rings behind the glass
"I don't see Merlin as someone who would like this one" Morgana looked up from her phone and looked at the ring with a giant diamond.
"Yeah... you're right" Arthur had to admit and chuckled at the image of Merlin walking around with a diamond ring on his finger.
"He isn't the one that would fall for some shiny trinket" Arthur added
"Agree brother, at least you can be sure that Merlin will not say yes, just to get his hands of your money" Morgana nodded
Merlin absolutely not caring about Arthur's money was probably one of the things he likes about Merlin the most, because some of his ex-partners were... let's say very happy to be able to spend Arthur's money.
Another thing would probably be their first meeting where Merlin was not scared to say Arthur what a spoiled little prat Arthur (in Merlin's opinion) is when he first walked in their company building.
"Why are you being such a dick?" Were Merlin's first words to Arthur on a hallway in front of some people from the company
"How dare you talk to me that way?" Arthur asked with a shock
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Well... you can't"
"Yeah, who made you the boss here buddy?"
"I believe it would be the founder of this company, that happens to be also my father"
"Oh... well... that doesn't mean you have to act like a total clotpole towards the other people!"
Merlin happened to be around when Arthur was, alright, maybe not really nicely talking to an intern that was temporarily replacing his assistant, and was failing big time at it... seriously that guy was worst than Merlin when he started and lazy on top of that. So Arthur was not very polite which Merlin didn't like and kindly shared his opinion with Arthur in front of the whole hallway where people were stopping at what they were just doing.
No one dared to spoke to Arthur that way, which was kinda logical, consider that Arthur (along with Morgana) pretty much runs the company now. Their father helps them if they need it, but he is not around the business much these days.
Merlin was in the building that day because Arthur was in the need of an assistant, and Merlin was in the need of a job... and after a short interview Merlin became Arthur's assistant, mainly because Arthur really, really needed the assistant and Merlin made the impression that he would know what to do, so Arthur was willing to forget about their first encounter.
Well... Merlin fooled him very good during the interview, let's be honest.
Arthur was going late on his meetings, getting there with the wrong papers and was forced to drink the wrong kind of tea and coffee, during the first month of having Merlin as his assistant. Luckily Merlin got better really quickly and now he is one of the best assistants Arthur ever had... of course his attitude didn't change a bit (luckily) and whenever Arthur starts to act like a spoiled little brat, Merlin doesn't hesitate to inform him about it and intentionally brings him the wrong type of drink.
"This is... I don't know Morgana... hopeless?" Arthur said desperately after another 10 minus of browsing.
"How about we try a different shop?" Morgana suggested.
"Yeah... sounds good" Arthur sighed
"Hey... don't worry, when you'll see the one, you'll know it" Morgana tried to cheer her little brother up which helped because Arthur smiled at her
"Thank you" he said while they were leaving the shop
"So... any ideas how you wanna propose to Merls?" Morgana asked while they were looking for some other jewelry shop
"Absolutely... not" Arthur admitted
"Really? Nothing?" Morgana asked surprised.
"Well... it's Merlin so it's not easy to came up with something good enough"
"Come on... the only important thing is that you are good enough for him"
"Hopefully I will be" Arthur chuckled and Morgana laughed
"Morgana... wait, look" After like 20 minutes of walking and searching for the perfect jewelry shop Arthur stopped and pointed at a small shop with antiques
"Antiques?" Morgana raised one eyebrow, but then thought about it
"Merlin is more likely to like something from this shop over some fancy diamond ring, I'll give you that" she had to admit
"Right?" Arthur asked and they both entered the shop
Inside it looked like in any other shop with antiques. Old things were all over the place without any order, but somehow it didn't make the shop look messy, but more cozy-like.
"Good day children" Old lady, probably owner greeted them and the Pendragon siblings greeted her as well
"Are you looking for something specific dear?" The lady asked Arthur who was already looking for some rings
"Ehm... do you have rings?" he asked
"Sure, will it be for you young lady?" the owner asked with a smile and looked at Morgana
"She's my sister"
"I am his sister"
they both replied immediately
"Oh... oh sorry, sure you two are siblings, I can see it now" The old lady laughed
"Yeah... no, the ring is for my, hopefully soon to be a fiance, Merlin" Arthur explained
"That's nice" the old lady nodded with a smile
"The jewelry are over there on that table" the pointed at table in the corner of the room
"Thank you" Arthur said and went there
Arthur saw a few nice rings there, but he didn't have the "This is the one" feeling yet.
"Nothing?" Morgana who was standing next to him asked and Arthur shook his head and went back to browsing.
"Any luck dear?" the old lady just suddenly appeared next to Arthur and no she totally didn't just make Arthur almost jump out of his skin. That did not happen, no matter what Morgana claims she saw.
"Ehm... these are nice, really, but..." He started politely
"Haven't found the one yet, am I right?" the lady nodded
"Yeah" Arthur agreed
"I might have another ring, but I do not think that it's really engagement ring" she started
"I would take a look, if it's ok" Arthur said and the old lady nodded and gestured them to follow her to the counter.
"Where did I put it..." the lady began to quietly wonder and look through the little drawers under the counter.
"You better take whatever she gives you for all the troubles" Morgana whispered quietly to Arthur who was actually kinda planning on just buy that thing the lady is trying to find for him, because he would feel bad just leave without buying anything now.
"There! Ha... I was worried I did sell it, but it's still here... take a look" The lady said triumphantly and handed Arthur a ring that did not look fancy by any chance
"It's not a silver or a gold but a simple iron or something, that's why I am not sure if it would be a good engagement ring for your chosen one" the lady informed him
"I think it's perfect actually" Arthur mumbled when he was looking at the ring with two dragons creating a heart. Arthur was sure Merlin will like this ring more than some nothing saying ring made of gold with a big diamond. This ring was the one, Arthur could feel it and had to smile little bit.
"What do you think Morgana?" Arthur asked his sister
"Totally Merlin, this one" Morgana nodded and Arthur smiled more, glad he was not the only one who sees it
"Are you really sure my dear?" the asked with some doubts
"I thought that you younglings are into gold and these things these days?" she added
"Nothing is even that simple with my Merlin, I can assure you" Arthur shook his head
Morgana and the lady laughed
"He sounds like a very smart lad then" the lady said
"I would say yes, but he is about to marry my brother so..." Morgana joked
"Maybe about to marry me" Arthur corrected her in an amusement
"I am sure that there is no maybe" the old lady assured Arthur who smiled at her
"So you're really taking this one?" the lady asked again to make sure
"Yes, absolutely" Arthur nodded
"How much do you want for it?" he asked and pulled out his wallet
"I don't know my dear... it's really nothing special so..." the lady began to think about the price, so Arthur took out 500 pounds.
"Will this be enough?" he asked and handed the money to her. The lady looked surprised at the money
"It's too much for that!" she said
"You helped me find the perfect ring for the love of my life, so trust me, you can ask for more if you want" Arthur said immediately
"No no, this is enough" The old lady said quickly
"Alright, thank you again, truly" Arthur said and put the ring in his pocket
"I just hope that you are right about this... it really is not very engagement-like looking ring you know" the old lady said with some worries in her voice
"Don't worry, Merlin is not that shallow to just fall for the pretty things and money... trust me my brother tried that on him" Morgana assured her
"Yes... on our first date in a very... very expensive restaurant he called me a prat even before we entered the restaurant, and then we ended up having some pizza from a nearby pizzeria, because he wanted to show me that not every good food has to cost a fortune... aaand he was right, the pizza was delicious" Arthur nodded
"He really sounds like a smart young man" the old lady nodded with a smile and Arthur nodded
"Now I am sure that that Merlin of yours will say yes, but I wish you luck anyway my dear" the old lady said when Arthur and Morgana were leaving the shop.
"Well... that's done" Arthur said happily and took out the ring from his pocket. Yes, he picked the right one, he is sure of it.
"I don't know how about you brother, but I would not say no to a lunch, I am starving" Morgana suggested and smiled when she saw how happy Arthur is about the ring
"Yes, agree" Arthur nodded
"You pick I pay" he added as a thanks for Morgana's company on his hunt for the perfect ring.
During the lunch Morgana brought up the marriage proposal again
"I don't know Morgana... definitely not something in public that's for sure... we were in a restaurant where that happened and Merlin really trash talked it, quietly of course, but it was obvious that he is not a fan of that. He actually said that if someone would do that to him there is a chance that he will say "no fucking way" his words, because he thinks that this should be an intimate thing and not something the whole world has to know about right away so..."
"So, something just between you and him perhaps? Some wine, good food... candles?" Morgana started to think about the strategy.
"Hm... that sounds really good" Arthur nodded "Yes, I think that it's something Merlin will enjoy way more than doing a show for the whole restaurant" he added with a smile.
"Now the biggest problem will be to keep it secret from Merlin, the old lady was right, he is smart, and he will tell that something is up when I will not be careful" Arthur began
"You'll be alright Arthur, don't worry" Morgana assured him
"What gave Leon away when he was proposing?" Arthur asked and Morgana chuckled.
"Please... Leon is an honorable and honest man... and can't lie even if his life depended on it... not to me anyway" she said with a smirk.
"Great..." Arthur sighed
"Calm down Arthur. You and Merlin are totally different story from me and Leon. You'll be good"
"Hopefully" Arthur hoped. His phone started to ring in his pocket.
"Oh... speak of the devil" Arthur mumbled amused when he saw his boyfriend's name on the screen
"Hello darli... what? What meeting? when? what? Merlin why do I not know about it? What?? Merlin I... you did not tell me that you idiot! Ok, ok whatever... Merlin shut up... keep them there, and I am on my way ok? I am at... the... ehm... I was just... it's not important, just don't let them leave and better come up with some good excuse why I am late... I don't know, how about burying my useless boyfriend... what did I say about you try to be funny Merlin? Ok, yeah, bye... love you"
"Troubles?" Morgana asked clearly amused by the phone call
"Don't even... apparently there is a meeting where I am suppose to be... guess what I am not there" Arthur was explaining while standing up. Morgana laughed quietly.
"Enjoy the lunch sis" Arthur said and put on the table some money
"Thank you, Arthur, and thank you for the dessert you gonna pay for" Morgana nodded.
"Bye" Arthur waved and quickly left the restaurant, he didn't even manage to ask how come Morgana is having a dessert when she is the Pendragon that actually eats healthy and all.

15 minutes later

Arthur stormed in the building and entered the elevator.
"Hey Arthur" Leon, who was going in the elevator as well greeted him
"Hey" Arthur replied
"I thought that you are suppose to have a meeti..." Leon realized
"Leon... I know... I forgot" Arthur stopped him
"Forgot? You?" Leon asked with disbelieve
"Yeah something... got in the way that totally pushed the meeting out of my mind" Arthur nodded
"What? Arthur you... you don't have someone else, right?" Leon asked
"What?! No!" Arthur almost shouted.
"I was with Morgana, she was helping me with... picking up the right ring for Merlin" he added
"Ring? You mean like ring ring... like THE ring?"
"Yes Leon, I am going to marry Merlin... well ask him to marry me first I guess"
"That's great Arthur" Leon smiled
"Congratulation" he added
"Thanks, but not a word to anyone yet, ok?" Arthur smiled at his best friend.
"Don't worry Arthur" Leon assured him
The elevator finally arrived at Arthur's floor, he quickly got out with a quick "see ya later" to Leon who continued on another floor.
Arthur quickly walked to the meeting room and saw Merlin standing outside of it.
"Arthur, finally!" Merlin exclaimed with relief when he saw his boss-y boyfriend.
"Where were you anyway?" he asked immediately
"Merlin... not now?" Arthur said
"Right... right... so you were with some client and the traffic screwed you over, how about that?" Merlin suggested an excuse for being late
"Perfect" Arthur nodded
"Can I just say... I totally told you about this yesterday..." Merlin started
"Yes Merlin, I remember now that you did, but I forgot ok? Let's just go inside and get on with..."
"You forgot? You?" Merlin interrupted him
"Yes Merlin even I can forget sometimes"
"Not about work... you would never..." Merlin shook his head
"Merlin... meeting, now" Arthur just stopped him, entered the meeting room and started to apologizing to the men and women in the room and blaming the traffic.
Merlin followed him and handed him the folder with the papers for this meeting.
Merlin would lie if he said he knew what was the meeting about, because he was thinking about Arthur's delay the whole time. For Arthur is his work very important, and he would never just forget... nope, there was something else in it and Merlin is gonna find out what...
"Merlin?!" Arthur's voice interrupted his thoughts.
"What?" Merlin asked and realized that Arthur and the whole room is looking at him
"The papers about the future plans of this business? You forget to add it to this folder probably" Arthur asked, not for the first time as it seemed and pointed at the papers Merlin gave him earlier.
"Oh, right... here" Merlin said quickly and found the papers Arthur wanted
"Sorry" Merlin mumbled and Arthur just nodded and continued the meeting
Merlin got back to his theories why was Arthur late.
"Merlin, can we go home?" Arthur snapped him out of his theories when the meeting was over... wait, what? When did the meeting end? Merlin thought.
"Yeah, yep" Merlin quickly nodded and got up from the chair and along with Arthur went to Arthur's car in the garages.
"Merlin are you alright?" Arthur asked when they got in the car Merlin nodded again and pulled out his phone to check the work emails, just in case.
Arthur sighed little bit, but started the car and drove to home
"Oh... I almost forgot, Mordred is starting his internship tomorrow" Merlin said when he was going through the emails
"Really? Great" Arthur nodded. Mordred was a young and very competent student that wanted to see how big corporations such is Arthur's works. He had one internship there before and wanted to see more.
"You seem to be happy about it" Merlin mumbled
"Well... Mordred is a very capable and a handy lad, he doesn't get in the way of our business and picks up very quickly what we are telling him about our work so... yeah I don't mind him around the office to be honest" Arthur shrugged his shoulders.
"I would use different words but sure..." Merlin mumbled. No, he is not fond of Mordred, because Mordred is a cute and lovable young sweetheart when he is around Arthur or someone from the office, but when he was alone with Merlin, he was not that nice. Mordred openly said that Merlin should have been fired long time ago for his incompetence at work, incompetence in Mordred's opinion at least. Mordred is just like a little puppy that follows Arthur around, while hating Merlin because in Mordred's opinion Merlin doesn't appreciate the amazing position of Arthur's assistant. But what is even worse, Mordred is actually very clever and capable and actually gives Arthur reasons to praise his work.
Great, another few days of Mordred's little smirks directed to Merlin when he does something correct which Arthur always highlights
"Babe?" Damn it Arthur, leave a man to think for a bit, Merlin thought when his boyfriend interrupted his thoughts again... oh we are home... ok then.
"And where do you want Mordred by the way?" Merlin asked when they entered their apartment.
"Where do I want him?" Arthur repeated and smiled little bit at that sentence.
"Who's gonna be his supervisor this time Arthur" Merlin corrected the question, and hoped that someone from a different floor
"I will be" Arthur replied
"What? Why?" Merlin whined because if Arthur is gonna be Mordred's supervisor that means that Merlin will meet him every day.
"Yeah, I think I could show him a few tricks" Arthur nodded
"Tricks?" Merlin repeated
"Yeah, some of the business ways and all, you know" Arthur nodded
"Why you? Gwaine could do that... or if you want him to actually learn something then Leon or Lance can do it" Merlin was trying to find some alternative.
"Gwaine... good joke, the only thing Mordred would learn is how to convincingly fake his work and flirt with everyone in the office... Leon is busy and Lancelot is already having two interns at this moment to take care of so..."
"So he could just go to..."
"Merlin why is it such a problem?"
"I just..."
"Yes?"
"Never mind... you're right. You can teach him a lot" Merlin nodded, but still wasn't happy about Mordred
"I will send him an email that you'll be his supervisor" Merlin mumbled and took out his phone again, he could almost see the happy expression on Mordred's face when he will read this email, and then the little smirk when he realizes that he will have the opportunity to show Merlin how to do his job.
"Thank you, Merlin, but it could wait for now you don't have to do it right now" Arthur said
"S ok..." Merlin mumbled while typing on his phone
Arthur went to the kitchen and on his way gave a quick peck on Merlin's cheek. He knew that Merlin doesn't like Mordred, but Mordred is actually very good intern, and he wants to teach him as much as possible. Arthur began to make a tea for Merlin, because he clearly needs it.
While waiting for the water to boil he was thinking about the marriage proposal again.
"I could put it in Merlin's tea and wait for him to find it..." Arthur thought of the "ring in the champagne" variant, but he quickly decided against it. I would have to drove Merlin to the hospital after he swallows it, he realized and chucked a bit
The water was ready, so he poured it in Merlin's favorite mug with a tea bag in it.
"Aww... thank you" Merlin said when he joined Arthur in the kitchen and now he gave Arthur little kiss on the cheek and Arthur smiled
There was still something that bothered Merlin
"Arthur where were you before the meeting?" Merlin asked quietly
"I was with Morgana" Arthur said, and he was, wasn't he?
"But how could you forget about the meeting, I just don't get it you know?" Merlin continued, and with his tea he went to sit on the couch, Arthur with a glass of a juice followed him.
"We were talking and I just..."
"Arthur... please"
"Ok...ok, but don't tell this to anyone ok?" Arthur began, tell what? What the hell is this plan? Arthur needs a good reason why he would forget about work, of course that the ring was the reason, but Merlin can't know that yet so... what would work?
"Tell what Arthur? Is everything ok?" Merlin began to panic little bit
"Calm down Merls... it's just... ehm... ok... Morgana is pregnant" Arthur said, and omg he is so dead right now.
"What?! Really?" Good thing that Merlin put the mug with the tea down, because he would definitely spill it.
"Y-yeah... so now you get why I forgot about..."
"Screw the meeting Arthur, this is amazing" Merlin smiled and hugged Arthur
"We're gonna be uncles" he said excited. I am going to hell, Arthur thought, while hugging Merlin
"Does Leon know? Was he happy?" Merlin asked when he unhugged Arthur
"No! No one knows, and it has to stay that way ok?" especially Morgana can't know... what the hell have I just done? Arthur thought
"Don't worry, not a word from me" Merlin nodded still with a giant smile on his face.
Fuck... I should've just tell him... this is not going to end up well, I am gonna have a funeral before my wedding, Arthur was thinking, while returning Merlin's smile

The next day started very well, because Merlin was asked to help Gwen with something, which meant that he got away for a few hours from the floor where Mordred is right now , doing Merlin's job at this moment. Very effectively undoubtedly.
"You seem to be happy" Gwen noticed when she looked up from the screen of her computer
"Really?" Merlin paused and panicked little bit, because he was thinking about him and Arthur babysitting Morgana's child in the future.
"You must be really happy not to be around Mordred I guess" she said
"Yes! That's it" Merlin nodded quickly
"How are you and Lance?" Merlin asked to distract her friend
"It's perfect" Gwen smiled happily, successfully distracted. When you want distract Gwen or Lance just mention the other one and you got it, the whole company knows that.
The phone on the desk rang and Gwen picked it up
"Hello Pendra... oh Morgana, sure... yes no problem I will, yes bye" Gwen put down the phone and looked at Merlin
"Morgana asked me get her this contract" she said, took some papers and wanted to get up
"I could take it to her if you want to?" Merlin offered
"Really? Thank you, Merlin" Gwen smiled at him, handed him the papers and got back to her work
Merlin knocked and entered Morgana's office. It was a big room with a giant window behind Morgana's desk on the other side of the room, that was similar to Arthur's office, but the decoration and colors were different for each sibling. Arthur had red, white and black there with an expensive looking, well not just looking wooden furniture. Morgana had green and black with furniture of a white color. Both rooms were impressive when you walked in no matter for how many times.
Morgana was sitting behind the desk going through some papers
Merlin walked over to her and handed Morgana the papers
"Thank you, Gwen, don't know what I would do without you" She said without looking up from the papers
"That's so unfair, Arthur never says anything like that" Merlin complained
Morgana looked up from the papers and laughed
"Well Merlin, you can blame only yourself, you fall for the wrong Pendragon"
"I realize that now" he said with fake regrets
"Too late now I am afraid"
"Yeah, I am sure I am no match for Leon" Merlin nodded and Morgana chuckled
"So did my brother made it to the meeting?" Morgana asked and motioned to Merlin to sit in the chair in front of her desk
"Yeah, luckily yes" Merlin nodded and sat down
"I honestly can't blame him for forgetting about it, if it was me in his place I would not remember some meeting eider" he added
"Meaning?" Morgana asked
"Well... you know... with the big news and all" Merlin smiled
"He told you already?" Morgana asked surprised.
"I... maybe kinda forced it out of him to be honest... him forgetting about work was really strange so..." Merlin admitted and Morgana laughed
"Well... didn't expect you to know this soon, but maybe it's for the best" she said
"Totally... and I can't wait... it's gonna be fun you know. I mean... you will let me and Arthur babysit right?" Merlin nodded happily
Morgana made confused face
"What?" she asked
"Sorry, I know no one should know about it yet, but... well you're the mom, so I think you already know" Merlin apologized and joked as the same time
"Merlin what are you talking about? What did Arthur tell you?" She asked
"T-that you're... that you and Leon are going to have a baby?" Merlin said/asked
Morgana went from confused to "Are you fricking kidding me?" expression and stood up
"Morgana?" Merlin
But Morgana didn't reply, she just stormed out of the room

"See and this will help you with the business plan a lot" Arthur was explaining something on the computer to Mordred who was sitting next to him and paying 100% attention to what Arthur is saying
"That's great" Mordred nodded enthusiastically
"Yes it is. So another thing that is really helping us in here is..." Arthur was gonna start talking about another thing, but the sudden opening of the door to his office interrupted him.
"Morgana what's..." he wanted to ask when he saw his sister's impression
"Out" Morgana looked at Mordred, who immediately got up and disappeared
"I was talking to Merlin Arthur" Morgana started, Arthur figured out why his sister looks little bit upset and stood up
"Morgana... I am sorry, really. I panicked and..." he began
"Panicked? How the hell did you know anyway? Not even Leon knows yet" she interrupted him
"I know, I am sorry I literally just... wait what?" Arthur wanted to explain, but then he realized what he just heard
"Morgana you are really pregnant?"he asked
"What do you mean really pregnant? Arthur don't tell me that you are that stupid" Morgana said and Arthur just nodded
"So you didn't know that I am pregnant?"
"Not until you told me"
"Oh my God Arthur..." Morgana mumbled
"That's great Morgana" Arthur said excited and hugged his sister
"I am still gonna kill you for coming up with such a stupid excuse Arthur" Morgana said with a smile in the hug
"I know, I know" Arthur mumbled
"Ehm... what's going on guys?" Merlin asked from the door, he decided that he will not just wait in Morgana's office
"Morgana is pregnant" Arthur announced with a big smile on his face when he unhugged her
"Ehm... why are you acting like you just find out?" Merlin laughed
"What? Oh... yeah... we totally knew that, didn't we?" Arthur remembered
"Oh my God, just tell him the truth brother" Morgana said
"Truth?" Merlin repeated
"Ehm..." Arthur started
"Arthur?" Merlin asked
"Idiots" Morgana mumbled
"Well... this is not how I wanted to do this, but..." Arthur started and began to search something in his pocket, while walking towards Merlin, who looked more and more confused.
"Merlin will you be..."
"OMG are you proposing?!" Merlin exclaimed before Arthur even got the chance to take the ring out from his pocket
"Will you shut up you idiot I am trying to say something here"
"Sorry sorry... but are you?" Merlin's excitement was really hard to suppress.
"Merlin!"
"Yes, sorry, I'll shut up now" Merlin grinned
"Ok... so as I was saying... Merlin will you..." Arthur started again and pulled out the ring from his pocket
"Marr..."
"Yes!" Merlin shouted and made a happy little jump
"Merlin! I didn't even ask yet so... actually never mind" Arthur just gave up and put the ring on Merlin's finger and in the next moment he had to catch Merlin who kissed and hugged him
After Merlin finished up hugging Arthur Morgana gave him a hug as well
"Well... now if you excuse me I need to go tell my husband that he is going to be a father, because I do not want him to find out from someone else, which is something that would definitely happen with you two knowing about it" Morgana said and left the room.
"We are gonna marry and be uncles... it's awesome" Merlin grinned happily and Arthur could not be happier eider
"Merlin... about the ring... I know it's not really engagement ring, but..." Arthur began to explain.
"It's perfect Arthur, really" Merlin assured him. He was happy that Arthur didn't just buy some shiny thing with a big diamond, but that he obviously actually put some effort into that.
"Good" Arthur said with relief
"I think that my father will get a lot of good news" Arthur said knowing
"Yep" Merlin nodded

Arthur and Morgana agreed that they will tell their father the updates of their lives together during the dinner Uther invited them on the following weekend
"Good to see you again" Uther said happily when his kids entered their former home and hugged them
"Gentlemen good to see you too" Uther looked at Leon and Merlin and went to shake their hands
"Good to see you too sir" Leon replied
"How many times Leon, you married my daughter so call me Uther please" Uther remind him
"Of course" Leon nodded
"Does that mean that Merlin gets to call you Uther from now on too father?" Arthur saw the opportunity and took it. Uther looked at Arthur and then at Merlin. He quickly noticed Merlin's new ring
"Are you? That's great boys, congratulation!" Uther said happily that even his second child did find a good partner to marry. Arthur got another hug and Merlin official permission to call him Uther and not Mr. Pendragon from now on.
"I have to ask Arthur... why this ring? I am sure that there were... more engagement looking like rings in the shops" Uther asked during the dinner.
"There sure were father, but Merlin is not that easily fooled by shiny things I am afraid" Arthur nodded and Merlin smiled little bit
"Good, That proofs that you did find the right man, my son" Uther nodded with a smile
"I have to say I was little bit worried who you may end up with one day, there are people that would surely liked to have your money and all the perks of your life" Uther said
"But Merlin is a smart young man that knows that money and possession are not as important as having the right person by your side" He finished and Merlin could not be smiling more even if he wanted to and Arthur's proud smile could not be suppressed eider.
"What wedding are you planning?" Uther asked
"Small... just our families and friends" Merlin said and Arthur nodded
"Better make it quick, so I can fit in some pretty looking dress" Morgana said
"You will look amazing in anything my dear" Leon assured her
"The dress will not be the problem Leon, my belly will be" Morgana said
"Belly? What do you mean Morgana?" Uther didn't understand
"Let's say, that if Merlin and Arthur will not hurry up with their wedding I maybe forced to look for my dress in the shops for pregnant" Morgana explained
"No... really?" Uther asked with a smile and Leon and Morgana nodded
Uther immediately stood up and went to hug his daughter and son in law
"That's amazing... I can't wait to be around small children again" Uther said happily
"But... we get to babysit as well right? I mean... we will right?" Merlin said immediately and looked at Morgana and Leon worried that Uther as the grandfather will have an advantage in that. Morgana smiled at him, happy that there are so many people that are ready to help out with their child if needed.
"Calm down Merlin, I am sure that we will get to enjoy the kid as well as my father" Arthur smiled at his boyfriend... nope, at his fiance.
"And if not, you can always get a child as well" Uther suggested thinking that two grandchildren might be better than one actually. Arthur looked at Merlin who was clearly exited bout that idea
"Ehm... I think that we should get marry first... then think about children" Arthur said carefully, he wasn't sure that he is ready to be father, but at the same time he knew that with Merlin by his side there is nothing he can't do, so if Merlin would want became a parent then... well they will become the best dads in the whole world and maybe even in the whole universe.
"Have you talked about it yet? Children I mean" Uther asked and looked at them
"Well... not really... but when we were talking about it we both agreed that we would want to go for the adoption option, right?" Merlin replied and looked at Arthur who nodded. Yes they agreed that they would want to give a loving home to someone who wasn't so lucky to be born in one.
"That's great" Uther nodded
"Well... when you decided that it's time for you to became parents as well, know that I will be happy to help with anything you might need. The same thing for you and Leon of course I am ready to help with anything you want" he added and looked at his children and their partners, happy to see that his children managed to find the right people to spend their lives with.
