Chapter 8

Overview

August and Lovely were not together for a while. August went back to school for his little sister and he still continued to search for who killed his brother. He still sold drugs to keep his money good. He was trying to get his mind off of Lovely and how he felt about her. The Mardi grass was coming up and he wanted her to be there but he didn't know why if he didn't want anything to do with her.

As he was making a drop downtown, he sees one of his boys Richie. They dapped each other up and the went to go Mar their drop. As he was walking he over heard a girl calling for help. August and his friend went down the alley where they heard the noise coming from. There was a guy beaten the girl and she was crying and screaming for help.

"Ayo get the fuck off of her, " they both said. The guy looked at them and August shot him in the head and the guy fell straight down. The girl was shocked and scared. August picked her up and took her to the hospital. Not even looking at the girl, he just took her into the hospital and was telling doctors to come help the girl. When he finally put her on the stretcher, he notice it was Lovely. He was shocked that that was her. He looked at her as they took her away to the emergency room. She was unconscious but he didn't care. He wanted to know if she was OK.

Two hours go by and a doctor came out. He told August that she was fine but she has to stay in the hospital for two days to make sure she ok. He went to go see her and see her sleepless body. He started to reminisce on the good times with Lovely and how much he missed her. He kissed her forehead and her eyes fluttered open. She cried as she seen him there.

"You saved me, " she said as she grabbed his hand.

"Yes I did," he said and he hugged her.

"I missed you August, " she said as she cried into his chest.

"I missed you too. I would never let anything happen to you, " he said as he sat next to her bed and held her hand.

Even though August still was mad at her about her cheating, he still cared about her. He still had to decide if they should be friends or stay together. If it was for him to think it would be a decision for both of them.
