Chapter 39: Ready For Love

"Ayos na ba ang lahat, Anak?" Dad asked while checking on me while I am sitting on my vanity and staring at myself. "Shanice," Dad walked towards my direction with a painful smile. "I know you don't want to leave, I know your friends will be left alone, I know that your special guy will also be upset... but we have to," Dad said.

Lauren, Lav, Kali, Kia, Krish, Amy, Szhan, Kheiro, Cendrix, Taubin, Mattheo, Ard, Neo, Nash, Aizren and... Blaze,

When I told my friends about our departure today, it was more painful... lalo na sa part ni Ard, because yesterday he cried silently. And all of them asked...

"Please, Shanice, this is for the best." Dad said. He sounds like he's begging for me to move so I stood up. I looked up to him and smiled.

Sabay kaming bumaba ni Dad, tinulungan niya ako sa mga maleta ko na malalaki. Pagkababa namin, naroon na sina Mom, Tita Shanty, Tito Ryle, Tita Sharly, Tito Austin, and my cousins except Szhan.

Parang may part sa akin na gustong makita si Szhan kahit na aminin kong galit ako sa kanya. Just for the last time, I want to.

"Have you seen Shaun?" Mom asked. She's holding her baggage tightly because I can see the veins on her hand. Nagulat naman ako sa tanong niya.

"A-Ah... Tita, susunod na lang daw si Shaun. He had to bid farewell to someone important." Kheiro said. Napatikhim naman ako at nagtaka rin kung bakit wala si Shaun dito. Pero baka nga kailangan niya pang makipag-deal sa buyer ng kotse niya at magpaalam kay Lauren.

"Shanice, kay Amy ka na raw sumabay, ha?" Krish said. Napatingin naman ako kay Amy na may makahulugang ngiti. Inirapan ko na lang siya at tinitigan ang bahay.

Hindi pa nga ako nakakaisang taon dito, sana man lang na-experience kong mag-Pasko, Bagong Taon, Valentine's, at birthday dito.

We went out of the house, panay ang siko sa akin ni Amy kaya parang nainis ako. She just smirked at me,

Ikinarga na ni Dad ang mga gamit ko sa van nina Tita Shanty, ang Chanel bag ko naman ay bitbit ko dahil nandito ang mga essentials ko. Sunod ay pumasok na kami sa kotse ni Amy, I wonder why she forced me to sit here in the backseat rather than in the shotgun seat pero sumunod na lang ako.

"Mami-miss ka ng kuya-kuyahan mo," Amy said.

"I will miss Ard too," sabi ko. Kahit naman hindi kami malimit magkita ni Ard, aaminin ko pa rin na siya yung isa sa mga pinakanaka-close ko rito sa Pinas. He got one of the special places in my heart and I treat him like my real brother.

"Alam mo ba, Shanice. He suffered so much since the day he lost his sister and mother?" she said while adjusting the aircon. "Tapos ewan ko ba sa lalaking 'yon, sure naman akong wala siyang gusto sa 'yo pero nang makausap ka niya, nag-iba siya." She clicked her tongue against her palate so I smiled.

"'Wag ka nang magselos, he admitted that he sees me as his sister." Natatawang sabi ko, inaalala ang mga naging usapan namin ni Ard.

"Tse, hindi ako nagseselos! Loka-loka ka rin, eh!" natawa ako dahil sa sinabi niya. "Pero sabagay, ang alam ko, kasing edad mo yung kapatid niya, mas matanda lang siguro ng ilang buwan." Napangiti ako.

I wonder if his sister lived, will we be close? Are we going to get along well?

I just stared outside the window, I am watching the tall trees, people, buildings and establishments blur past us. My smile faded when I realized that we will also pass the condominium building where Blaze is living in.
