As Kylie gathered her items from her locker, she came across a piece of paper about her next gymnastics meet. This weekend. She would be competing as a level 9. Against the whole U.S.'s level 9's! Her best friend, Emily, was reading over her shoulder.

"Hey, Kylie. About your gymnastics meet, I have some other things to do.", Emily said. "What? What do you have to do?", I asked nosily. "Really, Kylie? It's family stuff, okay?", Emily said. I probably shouldn't have asked. Emily can be really mean sometimes, but so can we all. We just learn how to get used to it and not draw attention to it.

"So, your saying you can't come. Emily, this competition means SO MUCH to me! I want my best friend to experience it with me, too. I am not letting other stuff get in the way of this.", I said. Emily glared at me and walked off. Uh oh. When she does that you KNOW that she is mad. I watched her walk off, and grabbed my gym bag, walked outside, and hopped on my bike. I couldn't see Emily anywhere.

Usually we ride side by side everyday. It works out because she lives a little past my gym. I didn't realize that Emily didn't want to be my best friend anymore as I rode off to the gym.
