They've been inseparable ever since they were six, they are now eighteen, ready to be married. Although arranged marriages grow less popular by the year, Edith and Chassity's families saw it as vital that they choose a wealthy husband for their daughters to marry.
When the girls heard of this, they died a little inside. Chassity was worried that all would go 'well' with Edith and she'd end up falling in love with the man her parents selected for her.
Edith on the other hand, broke down in tears but hid it by excusing herself to the restroom. She hid her tears well, but not well enough. Chassity had noticed Edith's sorrow. She went after Edith, practically almost jogging after her. Edith allowed Chassity to follow her into the restroom.
When the door locked, Edith weeped into Chassity's shoulder, dampening her sleeve with tears. "Oh, Chassity, I don't want to marry a man, for I have only ever been in love with a woman, but that can't be, for I, myself am a woman." She fell to her knees, with the feeling that all was lost.
Chassity kneeled down in front of her, allowing her to collapse into her lap. "Edith. I feel the same way. I have only ever been in love with one woman, and that woman is you. I know you probably don't feel the same way, I wouldn't blame you, just look at me. I'm hideous. A beautiful girl like you would never lo-"
Edith stopped her in her tracks. "Chassity, dear, never say that again. You are stunning. The truth is, you are the woman I love. I wouldn't want it any other way. I struggle to come to terms with myself with this stuff, but I saw this time fit to let it all out." In a quiet voice, chassity answered, a huge smile on her face, "Edith, is this true? I'm so overwhelmed with happiness, I can't even process it."
"My words are true, Chassity. I would never lie to you. The only person I've been lying to is myself." She stated, all in one breath, still weeping. Chassity sat Edith up and gave her a massive hug. "All will be okay. Take deep breaths, love. Squeeze me as hard as you want. Let it all out."
"I love you, Chassity. In fact, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't head over heals in love. Ive adored you since we were children. I sense you felt the same."
