A month went by of them acting as if they were just friends, as if that's all they wanted to be. They wanted nothing more than to be in the warm embrace of one another again. But alas, that could never be...or, could it? Perhaps?
Once again, they were left alone by their families, since they believed they were 'just friends' and there was no reason to believe otherwise. I mean, would you? If your daughter had been best friends with a girl her entire life and said girl went running to the bathroom in tears after being told she was being sent in to an arranged marriage, it's just like instinct to run after your best friend and comfort them. Chassity had done that plenty of times before, it was nothing out of the ordinary.
