"A body has been discovered! After a certain amount of time, which you may use however you like, the class trial may begin!" ...That announcement rang throughout the school just a few minutes ago. Everyone dreaded those horrible words. It was like nails on a chalkboard for them. No one suspected that another murder would happen again. No one wanted another murder to happen, but they were trapped inside of the school, so there wasn't much that they could do. They were just some random high schoolers, after all.
One person was already ahead of everything, though. Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Detective, started investigating as soon as the announcement went off. It was a miracle that the quiet male was still alive, Like, wouldn't you think that if someone were to commit a murder, they would go for a detective first? Common sense? Pshht! what's that?
The stoic male quietly roamed the dimly lit hallways of the school. Stress and anxiety washed over him like a giant tsunami. What if I can't solve this case? What if everyone gets killed because of me? Everyone's lives are at stake. They're all depending on me. I can't keep hiding from the truth. Dammit..! What is the point anymore? You Sussy imposter...Wait, what? Multiple thoughts rushed through his head at once. Intrusive thoughts just kept plunging into his mind, though he tried his best to ignore them. He continued to inspect everything he could in that section of the hallway, hoping to find something else that would help push the case forward.
"And what are you up to, Saihara-chan?" The sudden voice caused him to jump in surprise. "Ah! Kokichi! Don't scare me like that!" He shot a small glare at the shorter male, "I'm trying to investigate at the moment. I don't have time for any of your antics right now." The shorter male casually placed his arms behind his head, smiling innocently. "Nee-hee-hee! I toootally didn't mean to scare you! But you see, I got really bored doing all this stupid investigating crap all by myself, so I was wondering if I could hang out with you for a bit! Is that alright with you?"
Shuichi gave him a slightly confused stare "Wha...?" After thinking about it for a split second, he puffed out an exhausted sigh. "Fine, whatever. Just don't cause any trouble." Kokichi grinned excitedly "Oh I knew you would say yes! We're gonna be the best teammates ever!"
Shuichi immediately regretted his decision to include him. This was going to be the longest few minutes of his life. "Yeah...anyways, we need to continue looking around for clues. Let me know if you find anything, alright?" Kokichi instantly rolled his eyes "What is this, an episode of Blue's Clues? Looking for clues is so booorriinngg!...But snooping for clues is way more exciting!"
"Kokichi, no."
"Whaaaaat? isn't important to look inside of people's rooms too? They could be hiding things in there, y'know!" Well, he had the right idea, just the wrong motives. Shuichi huffed out another sigh, this time, out of disappointment and resentment. "I...guess you're right...but the dorms are normally lo-"
"I know that, Stupid! I'll have you know that I'm a MASTER at lockpicking!...or am I? you'll just have to find out!" Obviously the Ultimate Supreme Leader would be good at lockpicking. It's an evident skill someone like him would have. "Now come on! I have a specific room I want to check!"
uh oh..Kokichi definitely has malicious intent behind this..And I somehow got dragged into it! Am I really that gullible? Shuichi thought as Kokichi dragged him away. When they finally arrived at the dorm, Shuichi timidly looked up at the name plate. "Miu Iruma". "Really, Kokichi?" "Yes, seriously! She is super-duper suspicious! I don't trust her at all, so we're going to look through her room first!" Shuichi stared down at the floor in defeat. He still couldn't believe he was roped into this mess. "Now just give me a minute to unlock this door, then the real fun can start!"
Real fun? Nothing about this is fun. To be honest, it's more convoluted than fun, Saihara pondered as Kokichi fiddled with the lock. After a while, he eventually got in, getting hit with the smell of leather and...cherries? Odd smell combinations, but oh well. "See? I told you I could get in!" Kokichi said, gleefully skipping into the room. "I never said you couldn't..." Shuichi answered. "Yeah, yeah, whatever! just hurry up and get in here! There's a lot of cool things in here!" He replied back, casually digging through the semi-messy room.
Shuichi awkwardly shuffled into the Inventor's room, not wanting to have any part in this "perusal". Glancing around the room, it was tad bit messy. Random pieces of trash scattered about, Stray clothing items abandoned and forgotten in the corner, Arbitrary blueprints here and there.
"Oh! Shumai! We should check under her bed! People hide the most suspicious stuff under their beds!" Kokichi shouted.
"I highly doubt there's anything under there.." Shuichi mumbled. He got down on his hands and knees atop the cold, tile floor and reached under the bed. He fumbled trying to feel for anything he could find down there, eventually feeling a few sheets of paper. He then felt a few more sheets of paper, then some more, and more, and more.
"Eh?..That's odd..Why is there so much paper under here?"
"AHA! I knew it! I knew she was suspicious! Move Shuichi! I wanna see!" Kokichi aggressively shoved Shuichi away from the bed, crouching down and grabbing a handful of the papers. Once he pulled them out, they both noticed that it wasn't just random sheets of paper, they were magazines! "Oh, I didn't know Miu liked to read.." Shuichi said, tilting his head slightly.
Kokichi didn't reply back, instead, he just stared at one of the magazines in pure disgust. Shuichi, being slightly confused by this, decided to look over at the front page of the magazine Kokichi was holding. It didn't take him long to register what he was looking at, finally realizing why Kokichi looked at the magazine so distastefully. That isn't your typical magazine...It was an adult magazine. (DUN DUN DUNNNN!) Shuichi anxiously peered down at the other colorful magazines Kokichi pulled out, discovering that they were all adult magazines. Traumatized, Shuichi looked under the bed again, only to uncover about 30+ stacks of adult magazines scattered under the bed.
Shuichi had seen enough. He looked back at Kokichi and Kokichi looked back at him. They both sat there staring at each other, rendered speechless.
"..."
"..."
Kokichi eventually muttered a few words, still holding the magazine. "...Um...Let's go....Now." Shuichi nodded weakly. They didn't want to leave behind any proof that they were there, so they put it back and they never spoke about it again.
