UK let out a large sigh as he looked around his empty house. He sat in his wooden rocking chair, going back and forth slowly in it. He looked out the nearby window, watch a bird land in its nest, placing yet another pine straw to its collection. UK stared at the bird a long time, that is until the bird flew away once again. UK was alone again.
"I need something to do, something that can take my brain off this empty feeling inside me."
He muttered to himself. His parents England and Scotland had separated years ago, and left UK to fend for himself. He had no clue where they were, not that he cared anyway. That was the past. His son, the US, was off somewhere UK did not know. He wouldn't be surprised if he never saw his son again.
"America's probably hanging out with that Japan figure again."
UK thought to himself, then chuckled. He then felt sorrow within himself. His parents and even his son had a lover, but not him. He felt left out. He wanted someone to love, yet he knew no one would ever love him. Now he felt empty inside, almost as empty as his house. He needed to get his mind off of lovers and relationships. He decided he would go out for groceries, he had been running out of food for the past few days, so it was the perfect opportunity. He got up off his chair, put his monocle on his eye, grabbed his top hat, and a umbrella in case of rain. He walked towards the door, then turned as he was going out, gazing at the empty hallway. The hallway was similar to his heart: empty. He closed the door and began walking down the street.
