awsten knight was sure about one thing, he hated school.
he hated everything to do with that hell-hole of a location. awsten saw it as a waste of time, what would he even do in the future anyways? he didn't expect himself to survive middle school, let alone his junior year of high school.
the only thing he actually enjoyed about school was seeing his best friend.
"hey otto," awsten said as he walked up to his curly-haired friend.
"awsten, hey! what's up?" otto smiled.
"nothing much, just having to deal another day in this fucking prison," awsten responded.
"hey, it's not so bad. gives us something to do, right?" otto told him with a smile. awsten rolled his eyes and shoved his hands in his sweater pockets. "and if you think about it, there's only a couple hours in a school day."
"yeah, a couple hours i could spend anywhere but here," awsten said.
the bell rang and the two parted ways to get to their classes.
history.
awsten hated history. nothing about the class, well, that he'd know of. he never paid attention, anyways. he hated this class for one very specific reason.
"oh god, here comes the blueberry and his ugly sweater."
geoff wigington.
"is it new? never seen it on you before, looks as hideous as you!" geoff grinned as awsten walked up to his seat, which happened to be right in front of geoff's.
there's no one who hated geoff more than awsten.
"of course you noticed, you seem to be so obsessed with me it's almost as unsettling as the fact that you exist during the same time period as me." awsten rolled his eyes and sat down.
"you wish, blue boy."
"quiet down, you two. i'm about to start teaching," their teacher called them out. awsten nodded and rested his head in his palm, staring at his desk.
twenty minutes passed and awsten was fast asleep in his seat, but it didn't last long.
geoff kicked awsten's chair, making awsten jolt awake. "geoff, what the hell?" awsten gasped.
"wake up, sunshine. don't want the next class to walk in and see some hideous creature asleep in the room, right?" geoff whispered. awsten scoffed and faced the teacher, only to be greeted with another kick.
"would you stop?" awsten turned to the smiling brunet.
"stop what? i don't know what you're talking about," geoff stated innocently. awsten rested his head on the table and attempted to block out anything else that could've happened during class.

"awsten, you look tired," otto pointed out.
"thanks for noticing," awsten responded sleepily.
the two walked through the school hallways and stopped by the stairs leading up to the second floor.
"did something happen in class? otto asked. awsten raised an eyebrow as if otto should already know the answer. "i see, what'd geoff do this time?"
"the asshole kept kicking my seat throughout the whole class. god he's so annoying," awsten told him.
"hey, look on the bright side. he didn't pull out your chair while you were sitting down this time," otto tried to cheer awsten up, resulting in a glare from the tallest of the two. "okay, that didn't help," he murmured.
