'"I'm sorry — Maddy said you two weren't together."'
"Oliver's not filming today?" Roman asked alongside me. We walked slowly through the set, it was busy and we had about ten minutes until we started filming. Roman had showed up outside my trailer unannounced and offered to walk me to set to get coffee together and 'talk'.
"No, uh, he's just running a little late." In all honesty, he was draining the last of the bear he'd caught a few weeks ago. It was starting to stink up the garage and Julie just could not stand it any longer. If they had just let him wait until he came back from work I wouldn't be in this position but of course, Oliver was too kind to say no.
Roman nodded his head and kept quiet for a moment as we walked. I secretly hoped he would just stay quiet but of course, life ain't fair.
"You two live together?" He turned towards me — a little too close to my comfort.
His blood reeked— and yes, I could smell it. I could smell everyones but Aria had started training me to be more comfortable and in control around others. The beating hearts became less prominent and more like a sound in the background of my life instead of pounding in my head and distracting me.
"I mean, of course, we all live together." I held my hands behind my back and attempted to keep from making eye contact.
"What I mean," He held mg shoulders to stop me from walking, "is if you two are together.. together."
I took a deep breath and patted his shoulder sympathetically, "Unfortunately, no. But that also doesn't mean that I'm.. attracted.. to you.."
He frowned and released his grip on me. I watched his hands fall to his sides as he adjusted his costume. "Thought I'd at least try," He laughed nervously and began walking again.
I decided against following behind and and instead pulled my phone from my back pocket to check for any new notifications. Oliver being late was starting to worry me and now even more that he wasn't answering my calls or texts.
"You coming!" Roman called from a few feet away. The director, Alyssa, stood by his side as they both waved me down. I looked back down at my
phone, slightly disappointed that a text hadn't magically appeared."Coming!" I responded and slightly ran over to the set where they stood.
On set, all I could see was Roman's veins bulging out his neck as he spoke. His scent was getting even more terrible as the minutes went by.
He probably thought I was being flirtatious with Oliver gone but his smile quickly wiped when Oliver stepped into the set, huffing and puffing all over the place. It was like he had ran here like a normal person because he was crouching down and panting. I kept my eyes on Roman though, his scent was now becoming a little intriguing. I wondered what he would look like begging me not to slaughter him in his trailer.
