"she's an attorney?!" haruchiyo was extremely surprised about what his men found out about the girl last night. "could it be all an act? don't tell me she's there for work - no i don't think so - but it could be." the rosy haired man said while massaging his temples, he was confused with the girl's motives.
"well, sir. i don't think she's there for work. from what i know, she's actually in a massive debt with one of our biggest contributors." the man in black spoke. he then cleared his throat and proceeded to give his boss more documents. "her dad borrowed a huge amount of money for her studies and listed her name as the person who'll pay for it in case something happens to him. she actually just found out about this recently, as of what the mr. said. according to him, too, he forced y/n's father to put her name there so if anything happens he'd still get his money back." the man continued.
[a/n sorry, i'm too lazy to think of a name.):]
"i see, you may leave." he said with his eyes still fixated on the documents.
suddenly, two men with purple hair barged in.
"the fuck, are you yelling at, man? did someone rat us out again?" the man with slicked back purple hair spoke. "what attorney? did something happen?" another spoke, with the same hair color yet in a mullet hair cut.
two more men entered the room yet haruchiyo seems unbothered, like he's too busy reading about y/n's novel like life. "man, i didn't expect this." he said as he closes the folders.
"what are you talking about? don't just randomly talk about something then leave us hanging, bastard." the scarred fellow with a middle part hair complained.
"the girl i saw on the club, idiot"
"which girl?"
"the one i pointed a gun at!"
"which one?!"
"i bet it's that girl from the casino who won against him that pissed him off. didn't know you're not a good sport, man," ran said giggling.
"how much are ya betting?" the man with silver hair and slender eyes said, making the others turn their gaze towards him.
"my penthouse in shibuya." ran answered proudly with a grin on his face.
"i'm betting everything on this card. it's the girl yesterday that kakucho told me about," kokonoi said while raising his right arm holding a card.
last night, while haruchiyo was with y/n, the executives of bonten started to arrive. as far as kokonui remembered, when he asked where haruchiyo was, kakucho said that haruchiyo went after a girl. he was actually surprised to hear that, since it's usually the girls who go after haruchiyo.
"that's a great deal, are you sure with that?" ran teased as they both placed the key of the penthouse and the card. koko just nodded proudly and winked at kakucho.
"you two are ridiculously foolish." kakucho looked disappointed, what a silly thing to bet on, he thought to himself. "so, which was it, sanzu?"
"the girl at the bar last week, the suicidal maniac." the rosy haired man answered. kakucho just responded with an oh face.
"damn! remind me to never have a bet with that motherfucker again, rindou!" ran said irritatedly, how foolish of ran to think that kokonoi would actually spend a huge amount of money on something he wasn't sure of. lesson learned, i supposed. rindou just hold his laughter, he feels it would be better not to make his big brother feel like an idiot. kokonoi grabbed the keys and made a face at ran. ran truly feel stupid. how gullible of him to believe that he'll actually win against kokonoi in terms of money.
"i hate ungrateful motherfuckers. besides, she has a decent job, what is she doing at that type of place anyway?" haruchiyo said.
"didn't you say she was in a massive debt with someone and is out to kill her or something?" kakucho said, questioning his co-worker's statement.
"oh right, i forgot."
"well, if i were you. i wouldn't want to get involved with someone who works for the government. you know what i mean. i think you should stop this, haruchiyo." an oddly familiar voice spoke from the back, which haruchiyo did not like at all since the only person who calls him with his first name is his dear brother, takeomi. they didn't even notice that he was in the room, it explains their surprised look.

after all that had happened these past few days, y/n still needed to go to work. y/n lived a wealthy life, she was her rich man making her disregard the idea of getting married, though her friends are starting to settle down now. her father refused to tell her about the debt at all, he was a huge coward, or maybe he just didn't want her daughter to worry at all, but why'd she put her name there then?
after y/n and haruchiyo's encounter, it had been hard for y/n to maintain her focus for unknown reasons, or maybe it's because the other can'stop thinking about her too. she kept thinking about the reason that criminal stopped her attempt, replaying everything that had happened that night over and over again. it was also embarrassing for her. i mean, imagine getting saved from committing suicide, right?
as soon as she enters her office, her secretary came rushing to her. "where have you been, miss? the papers you need to look at and sign is already a foot tall!" her assistant said worriedly.
"calm down, misumi. you're exaggerating. i was only gone for 4 days there's no way--" she stopped as soon as she saw her table on the corner of the room, turns out her assistant wasn't exaggerating at all. she sighed heavily and went straight to her table to get her work done. the papers aren't gonna sign themselves, am i right?
"uh miss. by the way, some dangerous looking man went looking for you here while i was talking to a client. they were asking about you, i was too scared to not follow their orders and i didn't want the client to worry too. i'm so sorry i answered really personal questions." she said nervously. "maybe you should settle this thing with those loan sharks once and for all. it would be a mess if outsiders gets involved."
"no, i'm sorry. i promise i'm dealing with it now." y/n assured her.
