Ariel Dumbledore was always in the background living her life to the fullest. She may have been always on her own but over the years of neglect and abandonment she had grown to love it; she found it to be the most exhilarating thing that life could give. She hated being around people she found it suffocating and maybe that was a bad thing, or some kind of mental issue but she didn't care.
Ariel's only real source of company that she could stand came from animals, she found them fascinating and regardless what people said or thought she knew in her mind that all creatures were sweet and gentle if you gave them the time of day.
Ariel had many companions but her favourite, not that she'd like to admit it was Fawks the Pheonix who saved her from death when she was little. She was only around four or five when she had climbed the tallest tree in the castle grounds, the girl had nobody to look over and to tell her no so she kept climbing until she nearly reached top, she would have climbed all the way if she hadn't of slipped on the mossy bark, to which she tumbled to the ground with a large thud. The girl had scratches and broken bones, and was wailing for help but that never came until Fawks came down and cried over her body as she lost consciousness.
When the girl did gain consciousness she was ecstatic to see that someone was fussing over it warmed her heart- she was thrilled to know that she had a friend and could not wait to show her off...
of but if she only knew how that friend would be snatched off her and locked in a room, and to only be able to see him when she's able to sneak in- which wasn't very often.
That day was also the day that she realised that the people who were supposed to be there for her weren't and if anything they were out to get her.
Ariel has never left the castle grounds due to her 'not having a reason to' which was a load of shit. She knew she was trapped and there was no getting out of it until she was of age and could use magic to escape, she'd have to work quickly but that was fine as she had it all mapped out.
Books were brilliant things and also very useful, especially for things like planning her escape and knowing what the real world was like, but they were also bad with their twisted words, because the things you read may not be what they seem, and due to this just may not be true.
The things the young witch noticed in the book not be true were mostly to do with 'evil', they held to such accountability for everything when if anything both sides were at fault.
A thing that Ariel really hated was gossip and stereotypes she hated it, granted she was also at fault for this and maybe it made her a hypocrite but she didn't dwell on it, as she would at least give them a chance at proving themselves which most didn't.
Most of her life growing up was people watching.
Watching how the houses worked, and drama unfold- it got quite boring after a while as most of it was the same stuff but she had nothing better to do. Ariel wasn't allowed to start Hogwarts until sixth year which is what she was going into now. It was probably the old hags way of keeping her at arms reach and in line but despite what he may of thought she certainly wasn't.
Ariel got sorted before the kids would start to arrive to avoid attention- she was grateful for this as she did have a 'minor' anxiety problem, but I was nothing to worry about.
Ariel had been sorted into Both Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff originally but she had to pick one much to her dismay. She picked Ravenclaw as they were normally more antisocial bunch, which she liked as she herself was not a very social person.
And that's where her journey begins...
