Chapter 1

It was a sunny morning, the kind that would make you feel like nothing can go wrong. But Little did anyone know that this day was gonna be the last that humanity knew of peace.

A meteor quarter the size of earth was heading towards the earth in an unexplainable speed. There was no time to strike it with a missile, and in just 10 seconds the meteor landed on earth destroying half of its being. It landed in South America destroying the whole American continent, Europe, Africa and half of Asia. The result was devastating, there were only ashes left and with it came the struggle for humans to survive in this half dead planet. It didn't matter that you were alive because the after was more horrifying than dying in a mere 10 secs by a meteor.

Push... Push.... The baby's head is right at the entrance, you can do it. Rose's mother-in-law encouraged. Come on just a little push.....

Suddenly, the room darkened and there was nothing to be seen.. They heard A huge blast that shook the core of the earth. The ground shook like it was about to destroy every being in the planet. Everyone outside panicked and started running around. Some stayed inside their house while some went out and lay flat on the ground.

Amidst all, Rose started to panic and started hyperventilating. Her mother-in-law held her hand and said in a loud voice, you have to make this happen now otherwise you'll never see your baby. I don't know what is going on but I am here and your baby is waiting for you to make the final push. She's almost here rose.. Just one push. Rose calmed down a little then suddenly a loud bang was heard, the door was broken and outside it was her husband Victor.

Victor ran to rose and held her hand.. I'm here now, no need to worry. I'm sorry I am late. His hands were trembling when he said that but his eyes were determined. I'm here for you and my baby. don't give up. Its gonna be okay...

He started tearing up, he had started feeling that he might never see his daughter or more worse he might lose his wife. Rose tightened her hold on Victor's hand and gave a push, she shouted in pain and cried when the baby's head finally made it out... Rose's mother-in-law did not waste any time and slowly pulled the baby out.

when the baby was finally out , a bright light shone and lighted up the previously darkened room. The light slowly turned brighter, Too bright for humans eyes. After it finally dimmed, different color lights suddenly started falling down from the sky, making it look like fireworks shower.

No one knew what was going on. It was too much of a shock. They all came out of their shocked state when they heard the baby cry. As if on queue Victor went to hold his baby but he was shocked yet again when he saw his baby was glowing. Her body was enveloped with green aura. He didn't think much of it at that time. Victor held his baby and went to show his wife... Here rose, she's as beautiful as you. Look at her, look at our baby.

There was no response, rose stared blankly at Victor without any movement. No... No... Victors' whole being was filled with dread. No.... this can't happen, he cried out in agony. He went close to rose and cried, look at our baby, the baby you were so excited about. please don't leave me Rose I don't know what to do without you please....please, he begged like his life dependent on it, I need you. He held his baby tightly and  sobbed loudly. The baby started to cry as well as if she knew what was going on.

Victor sniffiled and turned to look at the baby. He slowly placed the baby on Rose's arm... Here rose, at least hold our baby for once. Let her stay in your embrace a little longer.

He started tearing up again, She needs you... I need you. Please come back, please say something. Please.... He hugged both of them in his arms and suddenly the same green light as before glowed and enveloped all 3 of them. The glow gave a warm feeling as if it was caressing your body with youth and energy.

After sometime, the light disappeared and when Victor turned to look at his baby and wife, he became shocked. His beloved wife's face which was devoid of any color and expression before was filled with light red color that's so fresh as if it has just been filled with a life force. He watched in astonishment as she furrowed her eyebrows and slowly opened her eyes.

The first thing rose saw as soon as she opened her eyes after dying once was her husband's tearful face which held an expression of astonishment, happiness and shock. Victor... As soon as she finished saying it, she found herself enveloped in a bear hug. Victor cried loudly.. His tears of joy seemed endless. Rose patted his back and comforted him.

After sometime rose seemed to come back to her senses and hurriedly said, baby... My baby. They broke the hug and she looked to her side, the baby seemed to be sleeping soundly as if she was exhausted after working her bones.
Rose firmly wrapped her hands around the small baby and teared up a little. My baby.. She kissed her cheek and embraced her.

Rose looked at Victor and asked, what happened?? Victor just shook his head and said, I don't know. They fall into silence for sometime. Victor again said, it doesn't matter... The only conclusion I can draw is that maybe  just maybe our daughter might have had a hand in it. I think our baby is no ordinary human.
Fear crept into Rose's heart as she thought how many people might be after her baby if they knew that she can bring the dead back to life. That night the couple vowed to protect this secret with their life.
