As I rode to school, I saw Emily a bit ahead of me on her bike. I quickly sped up and as soon as I got by her side, she turned her head and gave me a dirty look. I just drove off, ignoring the fact that I was losing my best friend.
Emily and I have been best friends since Preschool. We met when she was trying to sneak out onto the recess field. She got I trouble for something, I'm not really sure, I didn't know who she was. Anyway, she told me she had been in trouble and that she wasn't supposed to be outside and for me to not tell anyone.
Of course, I agreed and we played together. Everyday since that, we played together. That's how we became best friends. That's gone, now.
I slowed down so that I could get beside Emily, but she just sped up. Luckily, when I arrived at school she was putting her items in her locker, which apparently is right next to mine, so we could talk. I walked up to my locker and asked her why she was mad.
"Kylie, I'm not mad. I have something I need to tell you, but I'm scared you will get upset and never talk to me again.", Emily said. "Emily, you can tell me. Nothing will EVER make me never talk to you again. You are my best friend, and nothing can change that!", I said. Emily started crying. "I'm moving. To the other side of the country!", Emily said.
I started crying, also. We hugged. Everybody stared at us and laughed, but we just ignored them. As the bell rang, we had cleaned ourselves up and we both headed to class together.
