IX: Rescue!

Leah and Alice II stared at each other with cold eyes. Leah didn't know who this girl was, but Alice II knew all to well who her adversary was. Her scythe in her hand, Leah's sword in hers. Then, at the sound of a small rock hitting the ground....

CLASH CLASH CLASH BANG!!!!!!!

Almost light speed the two blades connected, over and over. Leah and Alice II were matching blow for blow, not holding back. Sparks flew as the sword and scythe connected at way above mach speed.

"I'm winning this for Shard's life!" Leah yelled.

"I'm winning this for his death!" Alice II shouted. The two weapons clashing together created sonicbooms on each impact, becoming more dangerous each blow. They were the best warriors in the past hundred years....from the worlds they both came from. They didn't even notice Pierce and Sky carrying Shard upstairs during the battle.

It was then that Leah's blade shattered into a bunch of pieces. She fell to the ground as Alice II pointed her scythe at Leah and laughed. She then also fell to the ground as her scythe shattered.

"AW MAAAAN!!!" Leah and Alice II said. Leah used her ice powers to make a blade of ice, while Alice II used her dark powers to make a scythe of dark aura. And so, the battle continued, but the blades were more powerful this time, tapping into their user's magic energy.

Please, Leah thought. Please make it in time, Pierce and Sky....

The battle kept going until, finally, both girls had fell to their knees. It was a tie, as they were equally skilled in power. They together could have destroyed a universe. They looked at each other, and then they both passed out.

Sky and Pierce steadily dragged Shard towards a tower in the distance. This tower could bring Shard back to control over his head.

"He's thin on the outside..." said Pierce "so.why is he so HEAVY!?"

"It's actually simple." Said Sky. "This isn't Shard's actual body, its his mindscape body. In a mindscape, a person' weight depends on their thoughts. In this case, Shard's heavy because he's thinking a lot."

"If that's the case then why can't we see his thoughts? We are in his mind."

"Because, Shard isn't in control. That Alice II girl is." Sky looked down at Shard, who was starting to look a little lightheaded. Not having a body and just a mind is taking a huge toll on him.

If he doesn't get back in control soon, Shard might never have a body again....unless it's a robot body.

Sky and Pierce dragged Shard up the stairs of the mind control center. At the top was the base, and all Shard had to do was be on there. Sky and Pierce were almost at the top.

"OH NO YOU DON'T!!!" The prison exploded in the distance and Alice II rocketed at the three with a roar. They only had a few seconds left to get Shard to the top.

"Come on!!" Sky yelled. She and Pierce pulled harder on Shard. The top was already in sight. Alice II was almost upon them, when a shard of ice hit her foot, stopping her in place.

"Heheh...not today!" Leah yelled from the prison ruins. She ran across the rubble and soon caught up to Alice II. "Now!! GO!"

Shard was getting heavier as his thoughts were piling up. It was getting harder to get up the stairs. 3 more....

"BASTARD!!!" Alice II slipped from the ice, blasted Leah, and kept moving. 2 more...

"Not done yet!!!" Leah held on to Alice II. 1 more stair...

Alice II swung Leah off and started to fly up the stairs. Sky and Pierce threw Shard onto the platform where he was supposed to be, and he started to glow. "No...NO NO NO!!!" Alice II tried to slash Shard, but her attacks just fazed through him. Shard was lifted above the platform and turned fully white.

The entire area started to flash, causing all the girls to cover their eyes. "It's begun." Said Leah. The entire mind was reset as all the beings faded into the white wave.
