I take a deep breath and hunch over. I couldn't breath.. The virus took everyone off guard around two years. They had promised us it wouldn't get out. They promised no one would get hurt. They promised no one died. Then the summer of '98 hit and then it got out. I choke back tears as I remembered my mom and dad, how they had told me that we would all be fine, that none of us would get hurt and then they got the virus. I was the one who had to kill them, I was forced to get rid of them. I covered my mouth and start crying. I stand up straight and collect myself. "I have to get as far away from here as possible," I say to myself and start walking again. I didn't have any extra clothes, so my clothes were covered in blood. I look up "winter...." I mumble as I see the clouds, it was winter and the temperature was dropping dramatically. I wrapped my arms around myself and walked faster to try and get to an area I could stay for a couple nights. I found a place under a bridge to stay and I lay down and rest my eyes.

             12:32 AM

Footsteps. I sit up silently because there's a possibility its a zombie, its just very unlikely. I look closer and spot a silhouette. I stand up and go further under the bridge. I reach into my back pocket  for my pocket knife. I have a pretty far advantage over all the zombies I've came across. I'm taller than the average male, I'm 6'3. So that gives me a pretty decent height advantage, I'm just not very strong. The shorter person who stood before me cocked their head and a small, almost inaudible gasp escaped their lips. "Oh my god, is it really you?! I thought I was seeing things, but no! Look at you!" The small one clapped their hands as if they'd accomplished something. I just hum in response and the person giggles "Jaquline, you cant recognize my voice?"
