You might be wondering how you'd tell the difference between the two divisions ... it's not immediately obvious at first; other than the sporadic yawn of an un-advanced.
The way you'd really be able to tell the dissimilarity between them would be if you were to catch their eye. Advanced people never blink. You may be thinking it'd be easy to fool folks in to believing you were advanced for short periods of time; if you were to concentrate on keeping your eyes wide open; but it's next to impossible. Advanced people don't sleep and not only that, they're constantly responsive to what's going on around them; they can tell with only a sudden glace whether or not the person nearby is one of them. Advanced 's are like hawks, constantly conscious and constantly sharp-eyed. But it wouldn't be obvious; it's not something that stands out in the community because everyone looks the same, walks the same, and laughs the same. It's only something you can see if you really pay attention.
A shifty look from an advanced to an un-advanced sitting opposite on the tube would remind an un-advanced of their ranking in the human race. You can tell a lot by just one shifty look as the eyes of an advanced glaze over very hastily and sometimes their pupils enlarge to the size of small black marbles.
