Chase’s POV
Yep. You see me as the stereotype of the typical loner quiet kind wearing a hoodie. You’ve probably already made the assumptions about me. But you don’t know anything about me or what I go through.
I have to suffer the awfulness of Skylar everyday. Let me explain. Skylar is a popular theatre kid of my grade. Every Junior knows about him and lots want to be his friend. Okay, everyone in the grade.
Except me.
He constantly makes assumptions about me and my life and lets just say I don’t appreciate it. He thinks I fit the stereotype of a loner kid. That I don’t want friends, that I hate people, and that I think school is like my own personal hell. I just live my life, studying for english tests and drawing in my spare time. Skylar always seems to try to ruin my day, but now I just have stopped caring about it.
It used to bother me when I was younger. Yes I have had to deal with this guy for years. It all started in 3rd grade. He arrived in the middle of the year. All the kids were excited about him joining our class. While I on the other hand had no opinion over him coming. I got so sick of hearing people talk about him and “how cool he is” “how nice he looks” and “how popular he would become”. I was over him and didn’t want anything to do with him by the time he realized I existed. He often saw me as a quiet kid and someone who didn’t have many friends. Maybe he felt threatened by me or something but it seemed that he saw me as an enemy. But that is a story for another time. Anyway Skylar doesn’t interact with me much anymore.
I see him everyday in the hallways before school starts. I always blast my music in my headphones and avoid eye contact. I think that he doesn’t even remember I am alive.
This is the story of how one event changed my life.
Skylar’s POV
I am one of the most popular people in my grade and I am hopefully going to be part of this year's musical. But I am more than just a pretty, theatre person. And also yes I am good at public speaking, I have had a lot of practice. I have struggles granted, they might not be what you expect them to be but. I'll explain that some other time.
Anyway I go through the normal routine of getting up and going to school, like many other high school students. Except I have something part of my day many people don’t have.. Chase. He always kind of intrigued me. He always treated me like I wasn’t popular and never tried to take advantage of me like some of the other kids tried to do.
Let’s just say kids can be pretty selfish and try to use you for personal gain even in 3rd grade. But those “friends” aren’t my friends anymore for a reason. They only wanted to use me and I didn’t like that, so they moved onto the next person. Sure it hurt, but honestly I think I got stronger from it. I don’t know, something about him just interests me.
Anyway, back to Chase.I see him everyday in the halls and I notice him everyday. Some kind of force draws my attention to him. It’s almost like we are connected in some way. I know that sounds kind of ridiculous but I do think there is a reason we see each other each day.
This is the story of how an event changed my life forever.
