Chapter one.

Winter feild

The city of Winter feild, home to the impossible as many would say... became a place where the secrets of the universe were understood.
A marvellous city, expressing ethereal architecture, existing, beneath the clouds; possessing a sun blurred with crystal dust.

It was filled with creatures of the sky, and land, on which the citizens walked, crunching pure icy snow with every step.

Although Winter field was peaceful. Hidden in the suspended mountains, was a creature of pure darkness!
For thousands of years, it had been bound in an endless slumber, yet, growing ever more powerful—  slowly breaking free.

On normal days, if you will... children play and frolic in the snow, weaving symbols in mid-air; arms spread forward. They called it a lume cast.

It was a way of connecting with the universe and manifesting with hand diles/ gestures, to create.

The lume cast, resonates across, with a small gust of wind... what manifests, brings about cheers from the children as the snow around them springs to life! Taking the form of a small cat; stranding on its two feet, as it juggles snowballs with a cherry smile.

—However it barely stands visible. Then it fades...

The Average citizens have their shops and small  businesses, while those known as ‘Sace', were protectors of the land.
Students as well, guarded the citizens and those in need, with their unique lume abilities and a silver blade made from a metal called, Aintium steel.

Everyone had their lume. But lightning users on the other hand... were feared.
The were labelled: unpredictable and dangerous. Citizens were to report any user of such a violent lume, to the council.

The council stood above everything. Possessing the most powerful Sace— they had the highest authority, setting laws in motion, and keeping the order in winter lume.
One of the laws stated: each family was required to have at least one child that would join the casters academy ‘silver high’.
There, students learn not just manifesting through the endless powers of the universe, but also trained in combat and the use of weapons and art of blades.

The dress code: a fitted black suit with white edges. Student would wear this occasionally under a cloak which had— likewise... edges of white snow cotton.

As people depart from their homes; some share gossip and stories as they pace along the streets with friends, while some... just lived in solitude.

One of such was a boy named ‘Avanrr’. He was never allowed to play like his age mates as a child. He was never treated like the others. Rather he spent his days inside the four walls of his room. Hidden.

As the only child however, by law, he was to join the casters academy.

This did not upset him, even though he had a secret that would now be harder to keep.
He could keep it hidden. But like emotions... there isn’t always full control.
Regardless, he only wanted one thing... and he would make sure to be ‘perfect’. Perfect for his parents... for once maybe.

Perfect.

This was also a chance to finally be partly free from his prison of solitude! Finally, putting a warmth in his heart... that only friends and soon, family could give.
