The sun was blazing on my shoulders as I stood in the crystal clear water of the beach. It had only been a few minutes since I had been out, but the sun was too much to bear. I began to head back to my little tent and sat on my towel, admiring the waves. There were tons of families and children running around, but somehow, everything was so peaceful. I reapplied my sunscreen, laid down on the towel, put my headphones on, and let my music play.
I was almost half asleep when suddenly something thumped against my left leg.
I jumped up to find out what it was, and noticed a white volleyball sitting by my feet.
I picked up the ball and started looking around to see if anybody was missing it.
Suddenly, a brown-haired boy began running up to me.
"Hey, I'm so sorry." He nervously stated, running his hand through his hair. "I tried to hit it back to my friends, but I missed it." He sighed.
"Hey, no problem." I smiled. I couldn't stop staring at his eyes. They were a seriously perfect pair of brown eyes.
"I'm Cole, by the way." He smiled, extending his hand to me.
Fernanda." I smiled back, shaking his hand.
"Well, fernanda, do you wanna play with us?" He asked, pointing to his friends.
I looked down to think about it, and then I stood up.
"Sure!" I grinned.
I walked over to his friends, and was introduced to them all. We played a couple of games and then we all sat down to eat some food.
It was getting late, and I had to head home.
"I have to go, guys." I sighed.
"Wait, fernanda?" Cole asked.
"Yeah?" I answered.
"Can I have your phone number? I'd love to meet up with you again." He shrugged, refusing to make eye contact with me.
I tilted his chin up and met his eyes.
"Of course." I smiled.
Cole's eyes sparkled with happiness as he pulled his phone out to get my number.
