At school:

"What? What do you mean, replacement? It's only been a day??" I exclaimed.

"What I meant by replacement is that you're no longer a part of the contest. To be exact, you are not the only person with a high IQ in this academy. This fellow here scored two points behind you, making him your substitute whenever you plan on turning back. I'm relieved I had a contingency plan," the empress said without turning her head towards me, her gaze fixed on her heels.

"So what? Are you really gonna just let some random fella take my place ??" I said as I raised my tone.

I get this is my fault but I spoke out of anger there. I always get my bitterness ahead of me.. maybe I should seek help.

it's not that I'm angry that she replaced me but of all people, why this guy?

"Y/n, you really don't know how things work, huh? If you're complaining about your replacement, you should have been careful with your words," she said, sipping her tea without looking at me.

"Well, I did say I'll think about it, "I said. I didn't know what else to say since I admit I'm at fault here.

"You think I'll just simply let you return after your dreadful behavior yesterday?"

"Tsk, fine then," I said, turning around to exit her door.

"You still can come back...."

I paused.

"...in one condition."

Of course, there's a damn condition.

"You say you're sorry and admit your faults to me," she said in a very fierce tone.

I turned around, my gaze meeting hers. "Really? Do you honestly believe I am that desperate for a competition prize? I assure you, I have done nothing wrong, and I won't admit guilt to you."

She raised an eyebrow, her expression unwavering. "Are you absolutely certain about that? So, I guess going to the US holds no importance for you then?" she questioned.

Suddenly, I paused, my thoughts momentarily interrupted.

this woman! I promptly walked towards her as her gaze follows me. I scrunched down putting both my hands on my thighs so that we were on the same level of glaring at one and another. we were again inches away from each other but this time, we were unfazed by it.

"If you're seeking an apology, why not.. let me seal the deal with a kiss?" I suggested, attempting to assert dominance. My snarky remark provoked a subtle twitch in her eye. Unfazed, she smirked and inched her face closer to mine, challenging me with a daring statement, "Try me."

"well this is getting interesting,"Nikushimi remarked, as he was enjoying our little conflict.

wtf?? try me?? what the hell do I do now?? I just said that to intimidate her but looks like she's got guts. I mean, I am dealing with a certified empress here.

Hancock's pov:

Ha, this brat should've come up with a better bluff. For all I know, this kid isn't brave enough to follow through with her bold statement.
