A helicopter at the other side of the clearing became airborne. More people surrounded me. It seemed as one was knocked down. two more people replaced them.
The helicopter was near the tree tops, well above me.
Forget this
Deciding to forget the fight here I turned towards the sky.
"Oh no you don't." Something snaked around my ankle and pulled me down. I hit the ground hard.
"Lookie, lookie. Her Tattoo is attached!"
"This is gonna hurt then." I could almost feel the grin radiating from him. Something hit my wings, it stung as it slapped against them.
"Pull it off!" The girl who had spoken first was excited to see my pain. I tried turning over to see who this pair was.
"We can't have you moving around now can we?" Something began to wrap around my arms, legs and finally snaked around my neck. Looking at my arms, it was vines. I struggled against them, thrashing violently trying to get away.
"Stop that," the vines tightened ", You'll only hurt yourself dear." Her voice was laced with sticky sweet kindness.
"Are you done yet? I'd like to begin." The man's tone was bored, like this was something he did all to often.
"By all means, Sammy, begin." The vines tightened on my limbs causing me to whimper. If they tightened them any further than my bones were going to break. What hit my wings wrapping my around it, it was slimy and stuck to feathers as if it had suckshun cups.
I started screaming the second he began pulling. My Tattoo was a rare accurance, there were three of us living. We were rare because our Tattoos merged with us completely. Every muscle, every nerve and every fiber was connected to our bodies. We were more intouch and had more control over our Tattoos.
Another scream ripped from my throat. Tears streamed down my face. My feathers flexed up and down trying to cut the slimy rope but the slim was only making it impossible. The vines surged around my limbs, wrapping them completely. There was nothing I could do, my wings were going to be ripped away and I could do nothing to stop them.
"Oh Gwyn. I'm terribly sorry that you're going to lose your wings." Christy's figure was blurred but she was there. My friend, the one girl that I trusted in my short time at that school was now the girl ordering for the children to be taken away.
"Why Christy?" My voice came out barely above a whisper.
"Why! You ask me why! How funny!" She moved closer to me ", You left me there four years ago. You and Jessie left me and I was taken by the Government. Do you know what they do to a fifteen year old isn't going to be a Tattooed!?"
"You weren't...Christy what did they do to you?"Another scream ripped through me as Sam pulled my wings again.
"They experimented!"
And the torment really began. Christy's hummingbirds tore at my clothes and peaked at my exposed skin. Sam's slimy ropes pulled sharply at my wings and the unknown girls vines slithered around my limbs. My vision was blurring figures into blobs and colors, the pain was to much for me to handle much longer.
There was a dark figure in the tree line.
"Help...help me." I called out, my voice was weak. The edges darkened, I wasn't going to be able to hold on much longer.
"GWYN!" The dark figure has running...no the figure was flying towards me.
"Dimitri..."
"Gwyn." The voice was everywhere. The darkness was everywhere.
