Attack On Planet Earth

Chapter Number One

In five minuets everyone should be up for the day, " I can take a nice hot shower before dad and Ogre wake up. " I whisper to myself, then grab some cloths and a towel. A minuet has passed and now the time begins to fly. " I'm so happy my room is the one right next to the bathroom. " I let out a sigh of relief as nice hot water runs down my back. Looking down at my watch again, right after I get out of the shower and two more minuets have passed. I quickly dry my hair and get dressed, walk back to my room and watch the clock, " Three, two, one. " And just like that my dad's alarm goes off down the hall. Then it stops, and restarts, all the work of my dad.

" Rose, honey its time to wake up. " He says walking down the hallway from his room all the way to the bathroom to take a shower.

" Okay, I'll be ready in a second, " I fake a yawn to make him think I just woke up. 

As soon as he's in the shower I jump out of bed and start packing my hunting bag, shoving an animal guide and a camera in it. Ogre runs into my room and jumps on my bed. " Hey Ogre, my big boy. " he sniffs my bag and starts wagging his big fluffy tail, " Yeah! You know what were doing today. " I walk from the edge of my bed over to my dresser to grab my gun out of the top drawer.

" Okay, you ready to go? " dad pops around the corner still putting his shirt on. I walk out the door with my stuff nodding my head. Ogre follows us down the stairs as dad continues to ask me if I have my stuff. " You have your gun? " 

" Yes. " I say, grabbing Ogre's bag and clipped it around him.

" Amo? " He opens my bag to check before we leave. 

I smile as pull away, " Yes dad" I have everything. " he zips up my bag, then grabs his keys and holds the door for Ogre and I. " So can I drive? " I'm half joking and half not.

" No, " he chuckles, but is being really serious, " Now get in, you to Ogre. " he opens the suicide door and Ogre hops in and sits down. Dad and I set our bags in the back with him, then get in.

Before we pull out dad hands me his phone and his black cored, I hook his phone up to the truck's speaker. I open up his music and pick the perfect song. Once the song starts, we hit the road windows down an music blaring. We pass a speed limit sign that says forty, as we're going sixty, the wind blowing so hard it blows my hair down.

I have always loved music, because I forget who I am when its just dad and I lost in a song. The first song ended and dad pick another one, one we both knew every word to by heart, " We where shinning like lighters in the dark in the middle of a rock show! " We sang in perfect harmony, then  we started to slow down as we came up on Durk's One Stop. 

Dad turns the music off as he pulls up to a gas pump, " We here to fill up? " I ask getting out of the truck with Ogre.

" Yep we sure our. " dad pulls out his wallet, " Here you and Ogre can go in and pay for the gas, and buy some snacks and stuff. " he hands me the money, " And some smokes please? "

" Dad! You said you'd stop! You promised me. Besides I'm to young to by smokes anyway. " he nods his head back to me. So I head in side with Ogre, I see him out of the corner of my eye pumping gas.

" Hey Rose. " 

" Hey Durk. "

I walk to the back  and try to find a gallon of water. I hear someone come in, and look out the window to see dad still pumping gas. I go back to looking for he water when I hear, " I thought I told you to stay out of here. " That's when I hear all the other bikes roll up. I try to keep my cool as the guys who almost landed my dad in prison walk my way. 

" Ah, come on Durk, we'll be in and out in no time. " I find the water and reach down to grab it, " Hey, " This real tall teenage boy I'd never seen before stands in my way, leaning up against the cooler door.

" What. " I snap back putting my hand on my hip right above my gun. The other men I do know come up behind me, and Ogre faces them with a full smile ready to attack.

" Damb babe, your feisty aren't ya. "

" So what if I am! " I say trying not to loose my cool. My eyes change direction to look out the window, and the boy blocks my way.

" You got a boyfriend? " Ogre jumps in front of me and lets out a warning to back off. Then everyone stops and I heard, " Don't you dare touch her! " dad pulls me back behind him with his gun out. I can tell that he wants to kill them, right here right now, but with a quick glance back at me he lowers his gun. We walk out and he slaps some money down on the counter to pay for the gas, and just keeps walking. Ogre follows us and jumps back into his spot when I open the door, dad finishes up with the gas then gets in. Driving down the road it seems like hours even though its only been twenty minuets. 

When we get home after a long drive with no music or conversation dad grabs me and holds me in his arms. " I hate those guys. " I hear him whisper to him self. He lets me go and I step back looking in his eyes that mirror my own. " Sorry that we aren't going hunting to day, " He says rubbing his neck, and I can tell he is kind of upset about it.

" It's... " I was cutoff by this loud voice that came from above, " Humans of Planet E, " dad picks he up real quick and sets me on Ogre and sends me inside. " we are 3,000 and we have come to save you. " Huge metal bomb looking things start falling form the sky like a meteor shower.

" Get in the basement! " Dad yells from outside, and Ogre pushes open the door to the basement and trots down the stairs. I lift myself off him and start running to the stairs, when he jumps in front of me all his teeth out and a small growl.

It seems like its been days since I've left the basement, so I grab my gun and walk up the stairs and stop where there used to be  a door. Looking around I see no signs of dad anywhere, then I walk out side to find his keys and phone laying on the ground. I hook his keys to my bra strap and  put his phone in the back pocket of my shorts. With my gun out and Ogre covering my back I make my way over to the truck. I grab both our bags from the back, dad's gun he leaves in the console, and his wallet. I take a minuet to give Ogre dad's bag, and clip his gun to my left side. Then go right back inside not waning to spend anymore time outside than I have to.

" Ogre, where is it? " Things start fling throw the air as I look for our home phone. " Ow! " I turn around quickly looking for a man. Stepping closer to where the voice came from and he says, " Hello? "

" Yes, hello. "  I pause finding the silhouette of a boy, " Who are you? " Silently I take one step closer to the silhouette.

" Who are you? " He echoes back at me, stepping out of the shadow so I can see him.

" Rose, " I state stepping back just a little, " Still, who are you? "

The boy paused fixing himself in a position that looked friendlier, "Taylor. " He takes one more small step towards me and I try not to move anymore. " I'm sorry if I invaded, "

" NO! " I pause trying to think of what to say, " Don't say that word! " I tell him, as I look away. We stand quietly, not looking at each other just thinking in silence.
