Amber sat outside her home, secluded and without a worry in the world. She took in her surroundings. The idle trees, the feeling of cold mist of from when it rained the night before. She pondered for a bit.
..."Mm, food."
The girl mumbled to herself as she walked back into the house, rubbing her arms as she tried to warm up.
She looked over to see her fiancé, sleeping and hunched over a mess of papers. Her soon-to-be husband: Jacques Escarra. He had just recently bought a company, that meant money, either losing it or having to invest. Stock seemed like a good idea, probably. The man mumbled something incomprehensible, huddling and crushing the papers beneath him.
"Babe? Baby?"
She pat him a few times to wake the man up.
Not even a mumble, so she pushed him a little rougher. "Jacques."
He inhaled sharply, waking up from his much needed sleep letting out a groan and stretching. He had managed to push the papers further off the table.
"Morning."Amber kneeled down, like if she were scolding a poor child. She organized the papers and set them onto the table.
"Jacques, you need to stop sleeping around, It's not good for you, you need to actually go to bed."
Jacques stretched again, cracking his fingers.
"Was just reviewing some paperwork we still haven't finalized. I still can't believe that Von Kastner sold his company to us." His tired eyes crinkling up in amusement.
"You should have told me, I could've helped." Amber sighed,
"Go to bed, its too early for you to even try with reading this all, deadline isn't even that close."She sat in the seat next to him reviewing the forms he had already signed, she had already watched him patiently work through them anyway.
Jacques snuggled up to her as she was pleasantly cold from being outside, deciding to lazily pepper her with kisses."Give me a kiss." He puckered his lips, Amber blindly kissing near him as her eyes were still focused on the paperwork in her hands.
"Please?" Jacques pouted. She finally looked at him, noticing the specks of color in his somehow red eyes.
"No." She responded mischievously, patting his cheek with her free hand.
He groaned, putting his whole body weight onto her, causing both of them to slide off the seat and fall onto the floor."Jacques Escarra. I will not hesitate to restrain you and drag you to bed.".
"That doesn't sound too bad." He smiled mischievously, leaning closer to her face.
Amber returned his smile, " Not what I meant, sweetheart.".
She wriggled out from under him and stood up, ignoring his unspoken call to help him up and pushing his hand away.Tsk.
He frowned as he got himself up.Amber started on making herself some breakfast, Jacques sitting quietly behind her on their kitchen island. She chose a smoothie bowl. It looked like it would satisfy her hankering for ice cream. She enjoyed the sweeter things, Jacques on the other hand wanted to pour Tabasco sauce over everything he could, meaning breakfast enchilaqauiles, menudo, or even shawarma if he could. He inched closer to her, looking over her shoulder every now and again, taking notes on how she prepared it. Now, Amber wasn't the one to buy all the rustic and fancy wooden bowls that the internet had always displayed a "smoothie bowl" in, but she wanted it to look pretty. She decided on a deep plate. 'Good enough' she thought as she admired her ice cream substitute with a defrosting strawberry on the side. Jacques took the opportunity to try and snag a bite. Amber had a funny rule about food: She did NOT share. If she had to share, she would've made a bigger serving.
She acknowledged Jacques leaning on the counter next to her and her bowl, definitely not about to stick his hand into the bowl. Amber pretended not to notice as she got herself a spoon. She turned her back to him, hearing him hiss out in irritation as he bit into a half frozen strawberry and dropping it.
"You know you have sensitive teeth right?" Amber said, voice laced with sarcasm.
"You suck." Jacques mumbled, still trying to eat the bite of the strawberry he did get.
She smiled with both spoon and bowl in hand, looking up at him with admiration. The size difference was adorable, but truly, she was much more dangerous that it seemed.
