Rain, bullies and me spell catastrophe in every way. You got me wrong, didn't you? I wasn't the one getting bullied. I was the one trying to stop a little girl from getting bullied. I did that only because I saw myself in her.
Those stupid bullies would always mess with kids. That's right. Kids. They are so very stupid. I saw them picking on my cute little neighbor, Rose. She had just started going to school last year. So much for sweet memories. She did not have her front two teeth because, she claimed, the tooth fairy had them in possession.
I could not stand the sight of her crying out her big eyes. So I just coolly walked in between the bullies and Rose and said, "C'mon sweetie, lets go home." They stood in awe that someone had dared to go against them.
"Hey! Who do you think you are, huh?" said the biggest of the three bullies with the most loudest voice. I turned back, glared at them, checked the time by my watch and decided to take them down with my brains. Not brawns this time, J! I thought.
"I heard they are selling lives on eBay and all you three would get special discount since you don't seem to have any." I said and heard myself let out a snicker. What was I doing?! I could not believe myself! The next thing i knew, I had my back facing them and was getting ready to run.
I felt someone tug at my bag. Hard. It jolted me back but I freed myself away from my backpack as i heard a loud rrrip. Everything was going a good but I need the most important part of my plan to play out perfectly or else i would be in deep shit. I saw Miss Claudie walking towards us.
I let out a sigh of relief, turned back and flashed a huge evil grin. "Hello Jasmine!" I heard Miss Claudie's loud and cheerful voice. She had recently moved in with her so-called baby, her candy shop. Suddenly, her voice turned all the more louder and menacing- something I had neither seen nor expected it from her. She was by far the sweetest soul on the face of Earth, according to me. But right now, one word, just whoa!
She turned to me and said,"Take little Rosie home, dear." I nodded in agreement and gave her a small smile before I helped Rose pick up her bag after which I picked up my own books. I felt a little tear roll down my cheek when I saw my sketching book in ruins.
Wow. Just wow. I was trying to help a little girl. That is it.
The result? Getting my bag torn and having about half my books strewn on the puddle-filled street. I made a promise to myself that some day, not today, but some day I will get back at them.
Even worse was that they were the same guys who were recently the talk of the neighborhood- dubbed "The Child Monsters". That was what bullies were- all brawn and no brains. How could they pick on someone who was not even close to their size? That just seemed pathetic.
"I'm home..", I managed to say though it seemed to disrupt my train of thoughts. It did not take me a long time to figure out that there was no one in the house. I dragged myself up the stairs and dumped my bag lazily on my desk.
My room wasn't much of a sight but it was nothing like any other teenage girl's room at all. The light purple colored walls were covered in random gaming posters that my older brother had generously given to me when he went away for college. I had my hands on my hips and was just standing there and admiring room for some unknown reason.
There had to be a reason for my new found happiness. No matter how hard I searched for that reason, I never got it. So, I decided to make one.
I looked at the refrigerator and smiled. "My true love! I live only because of you...", I said with a sigh of relief. Inside it I found a tub of ice cream.
Best. Feeling. Ever.
Many people argue with me that vanilla is the best flavour ever but i don't get the point of having a favorite ice cream flavour. I guess that not having to choose a favorite ice cream favour is just one of the many perks of being a foodie.
Whatever. It catered to my need of happiness on the most horrible day ever. Could I be more thankful? I guess not.
