Bad Batch Oneshots

What If?

Hunter grabbed Omega's hand tightly and started running dragging her behind. All Omega heard going on around her was blaster shots. Left and right. Hunter and Omega managed to lose the people who were chasing them. They slowed down running a little bit but still were in a hurry. Hunter ducked behind a pillar and held Omega close to his chest with one arm and held his blaster with his other. He glanced around the corner and saw no one so turned back to Omega who was pressed up against his chest. Hunters face softened and he put his blaster next to his feet as he proceeded to wrap his arms around Omega. 

She began crying and softly wept, "Why? Why are they chasing us? Aren't they our friends?" She looked up at Hunter with tear filled eyes. In that moment Hunter didn't know what to do. His eyebrows furrowed and he looked back around him as if something around him would give him the answer on how to comfort this mere child who was now being traumatized. The people who she thought were her friends are now turning against her. 

Omega pressed up against Hunter again and Hunter softly held her close and put a hand on her head while rubbing her back. He then softly spoke, "I'm sorry Omega. I don't know what to say or do to make this any better. But we will be ok. I promise we will get out of this together." Omega's trembling started to slow and her weeps began to calm down as well. She was beginning to calm down but they weren't out of the situation yet. Hunter sat her up so she could look in his eyes. 

Her eyes looked directly into Hunter's and he then spoke a bit more stern this time," Now Omega. We need to get back tot he ship so we can escape and get out of here alive. Here. Have my extra blaster. If we get separated I want you to go to the ship and take off. Don't worry about me. I want you to keep yourself safe. I can find another way off this planet ok?" 

Fear filled her eyes and Hunter immediately regretted telling her that and she cried, "No! I can't leave you behind! I can't lose you too! I won't know what to do! I'm not strong enough on my own!" Hunter put his hands on Omega's shoulders and shook her. "Hey! You listen here! You are the strongest, smartest, wittiest person I've ever met. And trust me. We won't get separated . We are in this together for the long run alright? That plan is called the back up for a reason. And even if we get separated and I need to find another way off this piece of rock, I will reunite with you." 

Omega nodded and smiled softly. She liked hearing that instead of hearing they will be separated. She took the blaster in her hands and Hunter smiled proudly. Omega noticed this and laughed, "What are you smiling about?" Hunter chuckled and responded, "Nothing. You just look super cool with that blaster. You could destroy a whole army with that look." 

Unfortunately, their time of pride was cut short when a blaster fired off right next to them. Hunter grabbed Omega and held her close to him as well as grabbing his blaster next to his feet and holding it in attack position. He looked at Omega and said,"I need you to run when I say. Run and I'll be right behind you. Don't stop." Omega nodded and got ready to bolt down the corridor. Hunter got prepared as he heard the footsteps start getting slowly closer and closer. 

"NOW!" Hunter quickly turned the corner and kicked the first figure that was creeping up on them. The figure fell but very quickly got up again and both figures started to gang up on Hunter. Omega started running and Hunter slowly followed while trying to shake the people off. He started close combat with the first figure that said, "I'm surprised Hunter. I thought you were so much better that fighting than this. " Hunter tried to punch them unconscious however their fighting was on point. The second figure tried to surprise attack Hunter but only succeed a little. "You should just give up Hunter. You have less than a 12% chance of escape. Not to mention the troopers who are on their way to aid us." Hunter hissed, "Oh shut up Tech..." He took the chance that Tech took to think to kick him in the chest multiple times and knock him down at least for a moment. He then turned to the second figure and almost got welcomed to a missing eye. Echo was using his robotic hand to try and injure Hunter but luckily Hunter was able to get out of the way and Echo just proceeded to run into the wall and knock himself out.

He ran through the door, closing it, and shot the panel so it would take longer to get through. Omega was waiting patiently for Hunter. Hunter nodded to her and kept running. They got to the landing pad and Hunter stopped Omega and looked around. They still hadn't encountered the other two so Hunter was on edge. Hunter looked at Omega and said, "Omega run to the ship. Quickly." 

They both started to sprint towards the ship that was just in sight however a blaster shot came from somewhere above them and hit Omega in the shoulder. She cried out and fell to the floor. Hunter yelled in rage and dropped down next to her. He checked her vital signs and once he knew she was ok looked up at Crosshair who was smirking down that them. Hunter then sensed that someone was coming up behind them and so he grabbed Omega and jumped out of the way of Wrecker. "You never have been the best at sneaking up on people Wrecker." 

Wrecker only growled and said, "You have violated the Empire and that makes you a traitor! Good soldiers follow orders!" Crosshair dropped from his position up at the top and came next to Wrecker. Echo and Tech then entered the loading deck and they all stood above Hunter and the unconscious Omega. Hunter growled at them and yelled, "What is wrong with all of you?! WE all know its the inhibitor chips that are controlling you yet you don't try to fight it at all! Wake up!!!" 

The rest of the crew looked down upon Hunter and all spoke at the same time, "Good soldiers follow orders..." They all rose their weapons and they were going to fire upon Hunter however Hunter gently put Omega down and glared up at all of them. "I'm sorry brothers... I'll get you back... I swear I'll come back for all of you." They all looked at each other and then back at Hunter. Hunter sighed and popped a smoke bomb. The rest of the crew was blinded and began coughing and trying to get rid of the smoke. Hunter on the other hand grabbed Omega again and ran onto the ship. He then immediately got the ship up and running and took off. He jumped into hyperspace.

Once they were a safe distance away he sat back and sighed but them ran over to Omegas side. She was bleeding from her shoulder but it wasn't fatal. After he wrapped the wound and gave her a sedative to help ease the pain Hunter sighed and put his head in his hands. Omega stirred slowly and looked up at Hunter. "H-Hunter?" Hunter's head shot up and he smiled. "Omega! You're alright... You're alright. Crosshair shot you but it's not fatal. It should heal over in a few days." Omega slowly sat up and leaned into Hunter. "What are we going to do now? Without the crew?"

Hunter looked out the window and sighed. "Well we go on our own for awhile until we can find some way to get them back..." Omega perked up a little. "Get them back?" Hunter turned back to her and nodded, "Family never leaves family behind. We'll get them back." Omega's eyes brightened and she jumped up and hugged Hunter. He almost immediately hugged her back and looked out at the stars again. "We are coming for you guys again. I promise."
