C H A P T E R 9

Anika's POV

I feel dizzy. I opened my eyes and i was on my room in the castle. I closed my eyes and what happened on the house flashed back to me.

Flashback.

Before i closed my eyes, i saw a figure of a woman. She's smiling so brightly at me. She looks familiar tho.

"You can do this Anika. I teach you to be brave right?" I suddenly remembered her voice. My tears fell.

"Mom? Is that really you?" She caress my hair just like sje always do when I'm about to sleep.

"Yes baby. Whatever happens to you just remember that your daddy and i are so proud of you okay? You can do this." She said. Then she stand up and walked away from me.

"Mom, where are you going?" I tried to stand up. But I can't it's like some force is stopping me.

"Mom! Don't leave me please!" I shouted.

"Always remember that you're dad and i will always be here. We love you anak."

End of Flashback.

My tears flowed like a waterfall. I just saw mom. God, i miss her. Naalala ko yung kahon na kinuha ko sa bahay ni Lola. I saw it on the table. Lumapit ako doon at kinuha yon. It was full of dust. Bumungad sa'kin ang makapal na notebook. Sa ilalim non ay mga sulat. Binuklat ko ang notebook at puro witchcraft yon, sa likod ay mga tungkol sa bampira. The penmanship is different from front and in the back. So i assumed that all of the witchcraft was written by my mom, and all about the vampire is written by my dad. My memories with my dad is vivid. I really don't remember them. There is also, a short history about Vampires. In the middle of the notebook is a note, for me actually.

Anika,

For sure, by the time you're reading this we're not in this world anymore. I just want to say to you anak, that me and your mom loves  you so much that we're willing to sacrifice ourselves just so we can protect you from them.

I know your lola let you use the ring that she spelled so the vampire blood on you will stop on flowing. By the time that ring is removed this book will answer your questions. I know you have a lot of questions in your mind. You're like me when i was young. There are also things about witchcrafts your mother wrote so you can learn some too.

I wish i could watch you grow, anak. But life is too cruel. So, we'll just watch you from up here. If you're feeling lonely or sad, just talk to us, we're always here and listening to you.

My tears fell once again. I cried and cried. Suddenly, i felt like they are actual here. The door opened, agad kong pinunasan ang Luha sa mata ko. The seven of them entered with a girl.

"Glad you're awake. Here." Sunoo handed me a bag of blood. Agad ko yon ininom. Napatingin ako sa babae. She's pretty, she looks like a fairy.

"Ah! This is Celestia, she is the one who helps us to removed your ring and the one who help us get you out of your house." Jake said. Celestia just nodded at me.

"Dumaan lang ako para i-check ka at mukhang okay ka na kaya sibat na ako. Bye." Celestia disappear but leave some fairy dust after. Sunoo sat on the other side of the table and take a look on the book.

"So, this is it?" He asked. I nodded. He just looked at the front cover but never looked inside the book. Binalik na niya yon at tinulak pabalik sa'kin. Dahil lahat sila nakaupo, dumako ang tingin ko kay Jungwon na nakatayo malapit sa pintuan. My heart skipped a beat, and all i see is him. What is happening to me?

"I think it's happening." Jay said. I want to ask him what's happening pero di ko maalis kay Jungwon ang tingin ko. Sunoo flicked my forehead at doon lang ako nabalik sa dati.

"Ano yun? Anong nangyayari? Bakit ba ang daming nangyayari sa'kin?" Sunod sunod kong tanong.

"Easy lang. Okay, Jungwon mind to explain to Anika?" Heeseung said. Lumapit si Jungwon sa'kin, lumayo ako, natatakot ako baka bigla ko siyang halikan. Halikan?! Anika! Anong halikan?! Bakit mo siya hahalikan?!

"Please, don't come any closer." Natatakot ako na baka kung anong magawa ko na pagsisihan ko sa huli. He stopped walking and sat on the nearest chair.

"You drank my blood." My forehead knot.

"So? Is that the reason why i suddenly feel like this?" I asked. When i looked around, they disappeared. Did they just leave me alone with him?!

"Ano 'bang nararamdaman mo?" Tanong niya, eyebrow raised and a smirk on his lips.

"I feel like... I can't explain but... argh." I give up on explaining. I really can't explain what i'm feeling. I heared him chuckled.

"What are you laughing about? Nakakatawa ba sayo na nahihirapan ako?" I asked, slightly annoyed.

"Medyo." Then he laughed again. Tumayo siya at umupo sa upuan ni Sunoo kanina and now magkaharap na kami. Pinagsiklop niya ang mga kamay niya at seryoso akong tiningnan.

"You drink my blood that means that i will be your partner for a lifetime." He seriously said. I can't help but to laugh. Is he serious?

"Are you fucking serious?" I said.

"Does this face doesn't look serious to you?" He said. I stopped laughing. No way. Kinuha ko agad yung libro at hinanap ang tungkol doon. I skimmed through the book and i found one.

DRINKING OTHER VAMPIRES BLOOD

- Drinking other vampires blood means commiting with them. You and the blood's owner will be together for a lifetime. You will only love them, but that doesn't mean that you drink their blood they will love you too. They need to drink you're blood too, so they will be fully committed to you. Drinking each other's blood is a ritual in weddings.

That was the explanation that is in the book. Napatakip ako ng kamay sa mukha ko. No, no. This can't be happening. I have so many questions. First, why did i drink his blood? Second, why did HE let me drink his blood?

"You drink my blood because you are in the verge of dying." He said. How did he know that? Is he reading my mind?

"I'm not reading your mind. If i could, i will know all things that's running on your mind." He said.

"Then how did you know that is my questions?" He rolled his eyes.

"It's written all over your face." He looked at like i was the dumbest person, i mean hybrid he ever seen.

"Why did you offered your blood? Do you like me?" I asked him. He scoffed, like what i said is the craziest thing he ever heard.

"I don't like you, remember you're a witch, i will never like a witch." He said that make my heart shattered in pieces. Why am i feeling like this? Oh yeah, I'm committed to him. Fuck this. I swallowed the lump on my throat. Bago siya lumabas, i ask him again.

"W-why? Don't you like someone?" He stopped but he didn't look at me.

"I just did that because the kingdom needs you." What? The kingdom needs me? Sanguis Regnum needs me?
