A month went by with no improvements. Olivia was still in a coma, and she was still having about three seizures a day. There was nothing that the doctors could do to help her, so it was a waiting game at the moment.

"Miles got to see you last night. I know that you probably can't hear us, but we talked to you for hours. Miles told you about his days, which are pretty uneventful as of late... Uh, I was allowed extra time off from work. They said that I was needed here, and when I want to go back, I will have a spot waiting for me. Your students miss you a lot, baby. The principal keeps dropping off pictures and I have them taped to the walls in here." Elliot spoke as he looked at Olivia.

He wanted her to open her eyes, to squeeze his hand, to say that she loved him. But Elliot never knew if the love of his life would wake up so he could marry her and have tons of babies with her. Elliot had prayed more in the last month than before, but they seemed to have gone ignored. It was like God wasn't listening to him, and it was pissing him off.

"I got you a ring, Liv. I think that you would have said yes to marrying me, so I gave it to you. It's really pretty... I picked out a round diamond and a silver band... It is a little snug right now, but it's only because your fingers are swollen from all the medicine you are on." Elliot sighed softly.

"Still not talking back? This girl is always so sassy, so hearing her silent is so strange." Serena spoke as she walked into the room her daughter had been in for a month.

"I know. I want her to tease me and give me shit for the fact I grew my beard out." Elliot laughed weakly.

"I think she'd like it. Now, it's your turn to get some sleep. I'll sit with her." Serena spoke as she settled down onto a chair and pulled out some yarn. She was knitting Olivia a hat since her hair wasn't growing back.

"If she wakes up-"

"If she wakes up, I will call you as soon as I can. And if she doesn't, I will see you tonight."

"Thanks, Serena. It means a lot."

"You are my baby's fiance. I will make sure you don't miss out on anything." Serena smiled.

Elliot stood up before leaning down and kissing the top of Olivia's head. He then caressed her cheek gently before mumbling sweet nothings into her ear.

"I love you, Liv. Our kid and I will be coming up later."

Elliot went home and took a shower before passing out in his bed. He slept for hours before his mother woke him up.

"How is she?" Bernie asked, as she led her son downstairs and to where she had made dinner.

"She is the same as usual. She didn't have a seizure this morning, which is a good thing." Elliot replied, as he walked over to where his son sat. He ruffled the blonde curls that covered Miles' head before sinking down beside him.

"Do I get to go and see Mama tonight?" Miles asked, and Elliot nodded.

"Yup. I promised her that we'd be up there. Now, finish your dinner and then I'll give you a bath. We gotta smell good for when we see Mama."

Elliot and Miles talked during dinner, before they helped Bernie with the cleanup. They were staying with Elliot's parents since the accident because Elliot needed the extra help with his son.

"Do you want me to sit with her tonight?" Bernie questioned, as she packed up some food for her son and grandson to snack on tonight.

"Nah, we are okay. Miles and I are used to being up all night and sleep all day."

"Okay, but you rarely sleep in a normal bed. That chair in her room probably has your butt print on it by now." Bernie sighed.

"Ma, I love Olivia with my whole heart. She is the reason I get out of bed at all anymore. I don't want her to think that I abandoned her, just because she's sleeping. I will always be by her side, even if she's in a coma for the years to come."

Elliot and Miles went up to the hospital together with a few games to play over night. Elliot talked to the usual nurses, and they gave him news about Olivia. Tonight it was good, especially because she hadn't had a seizure in over twenty-four hours.

"Mama isn't shaking anymore?" Miles asked after Serena left.

"She hasn't in twenty-four hours, buddy. That is good." Elliot smiled.

"Do you think she'll wake up soon?" Miles asked as he walked over and sat on the cot that he usually napped on.

"I hope she will. Now, I'm going to use the bathroom real quick and then I'll be back. You can cuddle with Mama for a bit if you'd like, and then we can start your lessons. Okay?"

"Okay!"

Elliot went into the bathroom and washed his face, and relieved himself before walking out. He didn't look at Olivia as he moved over to the table and started to unpack workbooks that Miles was using.

"See, he's back! He didn't leave you, Mama." Miles spoke, and usually that was just normal chatter.

"Miles, come do your work." Elliot spoke.

"I really don't wanna, Daddy. I haven't seen Mama's eyes in so long, and they still have that same sparkle." Miles smiled. Elliot turned quickly and saw that his fiancee's eyes were open and she was looking at Miles.

"Baby?" Elliot whispered, as he quickly walked over to the bed. He gently touched her cheek as tears poured down his cheeks.

Olivia's eyes moved from Miles' face before looking at Elliot in confusion. It took a moment before she hesitantly lifted her hand up and touched Elliot's chin.

"Miles, go get that really nice night nurse. Okay? Be fast." Elliot breathed.

"Okay!" Miles exclaimed before running out.

"I'm here, baby. Please keep your eyes open and just relax. You are safe and so very loved."
