I carried the weight of pain as the years ticked
away. I still do not understand where my faults lay.Witnessed enough for you to bury your head in shame, forced to hide us away
Scared of the lies you fabricated.I had taken my tears and swayed to a different beat that is not your own nor mine.
But a beat nonetheless kept me breathing.When you retracted your steps to find the chapters where you left us no longer hold the pages of You and I.
