It was five in the morning and the rain was heard in the background. It had been raining all night and right now it had no intentions in stopping.

You slept over in João's house earlier since your job was near his house. He didn't mind, and since you two were dating, it was a perfect opportunity for you two to get closer.

You were in a black tank top wearing some black pj shorts. You cuddled in his chest, while one of his hands was on your waist, securing you.

You woke up, yawning to yourself as you had the whole day ahead of you. Even though it was raining, you had to go to work today.

As you tried to get up, João pulled you closer, making you giggle a bit.

"João honey we have to get up", you whispered as you kissed his jaw. He began to smile before he shook his head.

"Não", he said, his voice husky, still keeping you in your embrace.

"I have to go work in an hour and trust me, my boss wouldn't like that", you said as you tried to escape from his embrace, but it failed. He just kept you like a teddy bear in a child's embrace.

"Rainy days are days for sleeping in", he said, before he released a yawn. "Why don't you call in?"

"Well I-", you stopped to think about it. You did deserve a break after all, since you've been working hard all week. And what is one day of missing work going to do? It's not going to harm anyone.

You chuckled, booping João's nose, which he formed a small smile. "Fine, but only for you, be lucky I didn't have anything important today or else."

João could only smile, silently celebrating as he won again.

Luckily your boss was sick, so he called the day off for his employee. All you could do now was climb into bed and snuggle with your Portuguese boyfriend. He didn't hesitate to cuddle back.

The rain was still pouring delicately over the window, the soft noise making the couple succumb into a deep slumber.

Rainy days are simply meant for cuddling, and João loved it.
