Darkness looked over the town, the stars concealed by the clouds that were coating the sky. The light rain was running down the window panes and the low rumble of car engines could be heard ever so quietly, but the night was so silent it seemed mythical.

She could hear the front door open, multiple footsteps creaking on the old wooden floorboards throughout the hallways as they trailed up the staircase. Her bedroom door opened slowly, the girl gripping onto a leather bound book in her dainty hands. It swung against the intruders shoulder, knocking them back so they tumbled out the room, hitting the wall opposite with a thump.

"Katniss!" The voice screeched, another person flicking on the light as the injured person gripped their shoulder tightly, "what the hell!"

The girl gasped loudly, her eyes widening in shock at what she had just done, not realising it was her friends.

"Oh my god Stiles! I could've like, knocked you out or something if I didn't hit you in the shoulder!" The brunette exclaimed, rushing over to him and hugging him tightly, "I thought you guys were murderers or something!"

"Nope, we're not actually." Scott grinned, holding Katniss as she hugged him after Stiles.

Katniss had been spending the Christmas break in London with her aunt, visiting her home town, shopping, seeing old friends, so she hadn't seen Scott and Stiles in a while. She thought they would be seeing each other tomorrow morning when Stiles picked her up before school, but she was glad they were able to see each other even earlier than expected.

Scott sat on her desk, flipping through books and papers she had scattered around, reading the random pieces in a neat stack at the side ( or trying to memorise the winter homework he hadn't done ! ). He ending up fiddling with a pen, watching as the British girl checked out Stiles' shoulder with a frown plastered on her face.
