I grab the bags in my hand. 

Damn, these are pretty heavy.

I reach my hand into my pocket, grabbing my phone. I check the time.

12:46? Well, I'll make it, at least.

"Hey~, what's up?" I hear a familiar voice behind me. I turn around.

Oh, Aoba-san.

"Fancy meeting you here~." Moca waves at me.

Wait, what are you doing here?

"Oh, I just went to the place. You know," she gives me a knowingly look, "the usual place~."

The 'usual place'?

You mean, Yamabuki bakery?

"...Yep, that's the one~. The bakery."

I get it. Can't resist  your hunger, huh?

Moca gives me a subtle nod. "Yeah, we've got a gig today, but I was getting hungry." I look at the paper bag in her hands. "Couldn't ignore my belly~."

Now that I think about it, I'm kinda hungry...

"You've got a good memory~. You remembered about the bakery."

Well, I've also been to Yamabuki Bakery, you know.

"Heh heh heh." A devilish smile slowly forms across her face. "Now you're really gonna have to watch your back when you're alone at night~."

Haha.

Moca's face suddenly changes to a surprised one. "...Ooh, I'm impressed you knew that was a joke."

Huh? Wasn't it obvious?

You did the same thing last time.

"I said it was a joke last time?" She looks up with a finger on her chin. "Hrm, did I really? My bad. I totally forgot~."

You forgot?

"By the way, New Staff-san. What are you doing here today?"

Oh, I went out to the mall to buy some things. 

"...Preparing for the gig?"

Actually yeah, I was.

"Oh, I see~. You were buying some things for today." Her eyes open in suprise. "Whoa, that's a lot of stuff you're carrying there~."

It's also really heavy...

Yeah...

Moca pauses for a second, before a small smile forms on her face.

"You're working really hard, New-Staff." She reaches into the paper bag. "Want one of the buns I bought? Here they are~."

Huh? A bun?

"...Hm~? Why are you making that puzzled face?"

But last time...

"It's because I said I'd give you buns, but I didn't?"

Yeah...

"Wait a sec~," a smug smile appears on her face again. "I asked if you wanted one. I never said I'd give it to you~."

"...I'm kidding. This is just a sophisticated Moca-chan joke."

I sigh exasperatedly.

How can someone be so free-spirited...

Moca reaches into the paper bag. "This one's for Ran, so I can't give it to you, but you can have this one if you want. Here~." She hands me one of the buns. 

Oh, thank you.

"Ran has been practicing really hard these days," a smile forms on her face, "so I thought I'd give her something to make the gig go well. Mmm, I'm so sweet~."

Haha, you sure are.

"...Oh, that's right. We have a gig. If I don't get going, they'll start the rehearsal without me."

I look at my phone.

I better get going too.

"Well, I'm gonna head off now~. See you later at the live house~. Bye~."

See you later, Aoba-san.

...

"Oh, New Staff."

I turn around.

"...Don't work yourself too hard, okay~? The great Moca-chan demands you to~!"

I pause for a second.

Alright then. I won't.

Moca smiles and waves at me. I wave back. 

...

I look at the bun in my hand.

Might as well.

I take a bite.

...how sweet.
