~Chapter 1~

“Mark, I’m going to be late for my first day of school!” I exclaimed, standing at the bottom of our grand stairs.

“I’m coming I just need to find my keys.” Mark called back from his room.

I rolled my eyes and mentally slapped myself on my forehead. I cannot believe that I was stupid enough to even think that it would be a good idea if my brother took me to school.”You know, I would have gone to school with Zoe or even mom and dad but you-“

“Found them!” Mark said, running down the stairs.”They were in the box of pizza I ate last night with the guys.”

I scrunched up my nose,” Eww.”

“So are you ready?”He asked, heading for the front door.

“I’m right behind you.” I said, getting my purse and backpack.

We got in his car and he cranked up his latest Linkin Park CD in his stereo.

I groaned, watching the raindrops pelt onto the windows from no where,” You can’t be serious!”

“Come on, it’s not that bad. It’s not like it’s going to ruin you precious outfit that you spent hours putting together.” Mark said, smirking.

“I’m going to arrive at school late and soaking wet.” I complained, leaning against the window with my arms crossed over my chest.

Mark pressed his lips together,” Want to bet?” And with that he stomped on the gas pedal which made us jerk forward as we sped down the street.

“Mark!” I shrieked. “Slow down, you’re going to crash into something.”

“But if I slow down, you’ll be late and-and arrive at school soaking wet.” Mark said, mockingly in a high pitch voice.

I laughed, shaking my head.

He smirked, “What’s wrong with having a little fun.”

“Your definition of fun is fun but it always means trouble.” I said, noticing a police car in the lane next to us.

“So I’d get in trouble if I splashed that dude on that bike with water?” Mark said.

“You wouldn’t.” I said just as Mark speed up and drove through huge puddle, completely soaking the guy.

Ten minutes later I arrived at school with the police and the guy on the motorcycle behind us.

Mark sighed, hitting his head on the back of his seat.

I pressed my lips together,” Good luck getting out of this one.”

He groaned, “Dad’s going to kill me.”

I laughed,” Yeah, well thanks for the ride.”

He grinned a little, “I was hoping the rain would stop by now but at least it’s only sprinkling and I got you to school on time.”

Just when he said that the bell rang.

“Thanks anyway.” I said, putting on my backpack and opening the car door.

The cop was right in front of me when I got out of the car. “Ohmigosh, I’m so sorry.” I said after I crashed into him.

“You should be.” He huffed, angrily.
