Chapter 10:

I hope whatever I am about to tell you would not upset you in any way. Everything that occured today was not in my control. I didn't have the ability to tamper with the way things went.
So please,
bear with me.

Today Hannah and I were sitting in her garden patch. We were waiting for Drake to arrive, too.
Whilst we were waiting, we spoke about many interesting topics,
especially ones close to our hearts.

I vented to her about my mental health and how I've been so lonely recently, even though I was not physically alone. She then embraced me with a genuinely affectionate hug.

Then she started telling me about her silent sufferings.
The way her eyes teared up as she told me completely broke my heart.
Then her hands started trembling,
and that's when I noticed the scars.
Her wrist was covered with cuts.
With damn cuts-

No woman should ever feel the need to harm themselves, nor should anyone harm them.
This attacked my inner morals;
I felt obligated to help her.

And by instinct, I did what any empathetic soul would do. I held her arm and comforted her in a friendly manner. I caressed her arm, asked her to get her first-aid kit, and immediately started cleaning her cuts.
It could've been infected.

Oh, and much as I'd like to tell you what she suffered with, the information she told me is confidential. I cannot break her trust.
We pinky-promised to keep it a secret.

Nevertheless, let me get back to the point.

After Hannah and I had confided in one another, revealing our most vulnerable form,
she thought that it would be the perfect moment to confess her feelings
...for me.

I was just as shocked as you are.
I never had the impression that she had feelings for me.
I mean,
she knows about you.
Yet she still felt comfortable enough to tell me.

Before I could even react, Drake arrived.
I basically left her hanging.

But that's okay, she should know by now that I have already devoted myself to you.

So, my love, don't worry.
She's nothing compared to you.
