The Jedi Temple....
A place that shines Bright above the decadent skyscrapers and the lowly dark alleyways.
The home of the Jedi Order, a sacred religious order of warrior monks that have kept peace and security in the galaxy for millennia.
This is where our story begins...

"Faster."

A flash of green shimmered as it made contact with a blue blade before being deflected.
"I said faster."

Once more, a green flash, followed by a blue swipe that knocked it back.
"Cayde, if you can't get through my deflects, how are you supposed to learn Ataru?"

"Sorry Master-"
"Don't be sorry, try again."

Randar sighed as his Padawan once again moved the same way he did before, leading to a deflect and unfortunately, a hard landing as the Padawan tripped.

He walked over to him and held out a hand.
"You're improving. But you still need to learn the very basics of Ataru. Wait for an opening. Don't expect an enemy to wait for you."

"Yes Master."
His Padawan hopped onto his feet and dusted off his tunic.

"I told you not to call me Master, we're 4 years apart in age. I'm practically more of a friend that teaches you stuff."
"I know Master."

Randar chuckled and put a hand on his Padawan's shoulder.
"Come on, Fawkes and Zarah should be waiting for us."

Cayde nodded as he clipped his Lightsaber against his belt and walked beside his master.
"I know you're only wanting to see Zarah, Master. No need to disguise that."

"Wha-what? Where did you get that from?"
"Oh I don't know, maybe the whole 'Hey Zarah oh you look so nice I like how amazing and sweet you are'. If subtlety could kill you would be the LAST person to die."

"Detective Cayde on the scene huh?", Randar asked as they walked into the hangar.

At first they couldn't see anyone anywhere except for a few technicians..but it didn't take long until the atmosphere changed..

"Yo what's up man?!"
Randar turned to his left to see an Iridonian Zabrak around his age sprinting towards him.
"Oh, hey Jayle-oof!"

The Zabrak tackled him and put him in an armlock.
"Ow what the hell man?!"
"You left for 2 weeks on a mission with Cayde and Zarah and didn't even come back to say hi?!"
"S-sorry! Hi!"

Jaylen chuckled and let go of Randar, the young Jedi dusting himself off as he looked at his friend.
Jaylen had a light brown complexion with horns slowly growing from the top of his head and a warrior's broad figure.
While most Zabraks tattooed themselves, he decided to go for a light yellow tattoo just above his nose compared to the near whole body tattoos common in the species.
"Now where's your girlfriend?"
"Girlfriend?"

"Zarah."
"She isn't my girlfriend man, the Code forbids."
"Bullcrap, I see how you two act around each other. There's somethin' there man."

"Whatever", Randar said as he smiled.
Jaylen was the only youngling that didn't think Randar was a weirdo for joining the order so late in life at age 11. While some people did join late, such as the prodigy Anakin Skywalker, they usually faced criticism, scrutiny, and bullying from a lot of different angles.
Jaylen was the exception, having befriended Randar years back.
He was truly Randar's best friend.

"Anyway, how'd the mission go?"
"Eh, routed some separatists in the Ryloth system. Not much else. What about you?"
"Eh ya know, kicking back watching everyone have fun."
"At least you don't get shot at."
"I don't know man, Master Windu's eye glares can kill."

He laughed and looked behind Jaylen, seeing Zarah approach.
Zarah was a human, like Randar, with Caucasian skin and neat black hair with blonde highlights that ended at her shoulders.
Small freckles dotted her cheeks near her nose and her eyes pierced him whenever they met his own.
Her figure was well maintained, skinny, and athletic.
Needless to say she was downright beautiful. Stunning even.
It took him a bit to realize he was staring for a bit too long.

"Oh uh hi Zarah-", he said to her as she walked up to them with her hand on her left hip.
"Hey", she said, her voice carrying such a softness to it.
"Whatcha boys talking about?"
"Nothing, just giving Randar hell about how long he went without even saying hi."

Jaylen pat his shoulder.
"I'll be off. I think the council wants a word in the war room when you two are finished with the make out session."

"Haha very funny", Zarah said as the Zabrak and Cayde walked off, leaving them alone.

"So..."
"So..."

They stood there for a bit awkwardly looking at the ground.
"Sorry I'm not trying to be awkward it's just when he says something like that it-"
"Annoys you? Yeah same."
The girl gave him a soft smile to compliment the chuckle that came from her.

Randar smiled and returned the light chuckle.
"Anyway let's get going, it must be important if they want us to meet after getting back so soon."
"Yeah let's go."

Zarah gave him a gentle pat on the shoulder and walked away, Randar in tow.
