???

"Hey wake up!"

Venti groaned as he pulled a pillow over his head to block out the sun and hopefully the voice.

Gosh, what a weird dream.

"Venti we've got to go!" Bennett's voice echoed through his ear. "Come on man, we don't want to be late!"

Why does this feel like deja vu?

Suddenly, Venti felt his pillow being tugged and a throbbing pain in his head. He acknowledged it was his fault though, that's what he got for drinking too much.

Venti finally let go of the pillow and tried to sit up slightly.

"My head hurts." He whined, which Bennett rolled his eyes at.

"What did I say about drinking so much?" Bennett scolded, as he reached down to his side and grabbed a water bottle - holding it out to Venti.

Except Venti didn't grab it, he just stared at the bottle much to the other boys confusion.

Well this was weird... Venti could have swore nearly the exact thing happened in his dream... His dream that felt so real- why did it feel so real? He could remember almost every detail of it. The party, Xiao, the murder... Kaeya's murder...

Why the hell would he be dreaming about Kaeya getting murdered? Maybe they weren't the best of friends but he would never wish that upon the blue haired boy. Also, does this mean Xiao was just apart of his dream? He isn't an actual person? Venti had never seen or heard of a Xiao before so it would only make sense that he was just a part of his imagination.

Venti felt a strong pang in his chest of disappointment at the thought.

So it was all a dream... All of it, the interactions, conversations-

"Hey, uh, Venti-" Bennett's voice cut him out of his thoughts, as Venti turned to see a concerned expression on the other boys face.

"Uh, yeah - thanks." Venti smiled softly as he took the water bottle from Bennett, taking a sip.

"No problemo!" Bennett exclaimed as he clapped his hands together with a small smile.

Suddenly, Chongyun's head popped into Venti's room.

"Hey guys we should probably leave - you know how upset Xingqiu gets when we're late." Chongyun said.

"Yeah! Don't want to leave Razor waiting!" Bennett chimed in.

Okay - Venti acknowledged that it was just a dream. Much to his joy since Kaeya wasn't dead but disappointment because Xiao doesn't exist. However, this was getting extremely strange. He could swear Chongyun and Bennett said the exact same thing in this dream of his.

"Why do you look like you've just seen a ghost?" Chongyun chuckled, making Venti aware of his agape mouth which he quickly closed.

"He has been watching too many of those horror movies with you Chongyun." Bennett chuckled teasingly.

"Well anyway-" Bennett continued. "I know you're tired but we need to leave soon - so please don't take forever to get ready."

Yeah, this was definitely getting weird..

"Oh I know something that'll motivate him." Chongyun said as he leaned against the doorframe with a smirk on his face.

Why are their actions even the exact same?!! Venti knew that his memory isn't the most accurate, he sometimes forgets certain points in time or imagines things. But it wasn't this bad-

Venti noticed Bennett and Chongyun exchange a look of confusion, probably due to his silence. "What will motivate me?" Venti finally spluttered out. This whole situation was beyond strange but appearing weird to them isn't going to fix anything.

"Xingqiu told me he invited one of Kaeya's old friends to the 'welcome-home' dinner. Apparently he is cute too - shoulder length hair, tattoos, reserved-"

"XIAO?!!!" Venti yelled out, interrupting the other boy and startling him.

"Uh, yeah, you know him?" Chongyun questioned.

Venti felt like his brain was going to explode. He was going insane - this was it. This is the end of the line for him. Insanity had finally come to sallow him up, it probably wouldn't be long until he forgot his name. He should probably write a letter to his parents before it's too late, apologising to them for everything wrong he's done. He should also probably send an apology letter to the bar staff who he stole drinks from. There was also that one guy-

"Uhhh Venti - you okay?" Venti turned to see Bennett staring at him in concern. That's when self-awareness washed over Venti, and he noticed just how weird he might seem to them. He was sitting at the very back of his bed pressed tightly against the bedframe, clutching his bed sheets in tight fists and his facial expression was probably - terrified.

Venti coughed a bit. "Uh yeah, just deja vu." He tried to laugh off, which only added to his friends confusion. That's when a thought occurred to Venti. "Hey, what's the date?"

"15th of April- why?" Bennett questioned.

Venti slowly nodded his head still in shock, not saying a word.

"Well anyway come on," Chongyun brushed off.  "You know it'll be nice to see Kaeya again. Just get ready quicker for the cute guy." Then Chongyun left the room, beckoning Bennett to follow.

Well shit.
