"You are running out of ideas," said Cassidy.

"You like the mall," said Shawn.  "You're a girl, girls like the mall."

"Yeah, I do," said Cassidy.  They were quiet for a second as they walked hand-in-hand through the mall. "You know, you know so much about me, but I know barely anything about you."

"Do you really want to find out?" Shawn asked.

"Of course," said Cassidy.  "I'd like to."

"Well, I was born in Philadelphia, raised in Philadelphia, and live in Philadelphia currently."

Cassidy rolled her eyes.  "Shawn," she said.  "I meant, like, more than that."

"What more is there?"

"Like, everything.  Your best friend is Cory,  you live in Philadelphia, and you definitely like girls.  That's all I know.  Where do you live? Do you have siblings?  What's your favorite food?"

"Um —"

"Oh, come on. You know where I live."

"I live in a trailer park," said Shawn, quickly.

"See, that wasn't so hard," she said, smiling.

"You're not weirded out that I live in a trailer park," said Shawn, raising his eyebrows.

"You don't tell a lot of people that, do you?  Because you think you'll get a negative reaction?"

"I guess not," said Shawn.

"Well, I like you either way.  It's funny, I never even talked to you and I had a little crush on you."

"Well, you always say I'm cute," smiled Shawn.

"I'm not going to judge you on where you live.  I like you for you."

Shawn smiled.  "Thanks."

"So, do you and Shawn have any plans for the weekend?" asked one of Cassidy's friends, Olivia, the next day.  It was Friday, and lunchtime.  The cafeteria was buzzing with talk of weekend plans.

"Not yet," said Cassidy to her friend.  She was sitting with a couple of other girls, as well, some of whom were jealous of her.

"Maybe he's just losing interest," interjected Maya, her arms crossed.  Most of the girls in the eighth grade thought Shawn was cute.

"No.  We're going to hang out at Cory's house later today though.  Topanga's going to be there."

"Ooh, whenever you get weekend plans, tell me," said Olivia eagerly.  She liked to know all the details.

Maya rolled her eyes.

"So, welcome to my humble abode," said Cory, welcoming in Cassidy, who was there for the first time.  Just before Shawn walked in the door, an older boy came downstairs.  Cassidy recognized him from school.

"Wow, Cory's got two girls?" he said. "Very nice, Cory."

"Actually, one's Shawn's," said Cory, just as his friend walked in. "This is Cassidy," he introduced.

"Good to meet you, Cassidy. Eric Matthews."

"Yeah, I've seen you around school," said Cassidy.

"Too bad, Cory, she seems nice," said Eric.

"Hey, I'm right here," said Topanga.

"Just kidding with you," said Eric.  "I'll leave you all alone."
