12:45Ugh...when will this day just be over... You thought to yourself, ready to go home and go to sleep, since you were so tired.
You had just finished unpacking all your clothes into your closet the night before, and you didn't get to sleep until 2 a.m. Life and school in the city was a lot more interesting than your small hometown, but the bustle of your new surroundings overwhelmed and exhausted you.
To meet some people, you had already joined some clubs: Art, photography and surprisingly enough, volleyball- the men's team to be exact- as their manager. It was definitely something new to you, but out of all the sports, volleyball was the most fun and exciting to watch.
The day before, you had already had a meeting with the coach as well as the team captain, a third year named Kotaro Bokuto. He was loud and animated, but extremely friendly and welcoming. You didn't realize until after you had agreed to be the manager, that Fukurodani's volleyball team was actually one of the bests in the city, making the pressure worse.
"Don't you worry! You're going to be a hit with the team!" Bokuto said to me. "Plus, we always have a good time!"
The coach rolled his eyes at Bokuto's words, seeming to express that it was mainly Bokuto that always had a "good time", but regardless, he was a fun person to be around, and you were excited.
As the rest of the class trickled in from lunch, you decided to go to the bathroom before lecture, and as you made my way out of the room, you noticed something: A volleyball, hanging out of a backpack. When you looked up to see who the owner was, there was no one in the desk.
Moments later, you walked back in, and you were the last student not in their assigned seat.
"(Y/l/n), please close the door behind you." Said the professor. You did as you were told and made your way back to my desk, catching a glimpse of the boy with the volleyball.
He had short, black, tousled hair and an athletic stature. When you walked past, you tried to look at his face. His dark, teal eyes met yours for split second, before you looked away, obviously blushing from the interaction.
Wow, he's cute.
After meeting his gaze, you had trouble listening in class as the teacher spoke. Your overactive mind now making up random scenarios in your head with this mystery volleyball boy.
How did I not notice him earlier? You thought to yourself.
It was Friday, the last day of your first school week, and your first day at the volleyball practice. You were seated at the front of the class, so it was hard to notice anyone sitting behind you without obviously staring. But still, he was just your type, so the fact that you were just seeing him now blew your mind.
"Alright students! Class is dismissed, you all have a nice weekend!" Your professor rang, as you packed up your books. You flung your backpack over your shoulder and turned towards the door, when the handsome, dark haired volleyball boy was standing right in your path out of the classroom.
"(Y/n) right?" He said.
Softly, you gulped your nerves down, knowing that you weren't a very shy person, but something about him made you nervous.
"Yes, you are?" You asked, shooting your eyes towards the volleyball poking out of his backpack.
He averted his gaze to the ball as well, giving you a soft smirk when he noticed that you noticed.
"Keiji Akaashi, I am the setter and Vice-Captain for the volleyball team here." He informed. "I'm best friends with Bokuto, and he told me you were in my class."
