Smoke started to fill the room. You can literally smell something burning, but not sure what. Mr Jacobs walked over to the door and peaked through the window on the door but it was to hard to see out of it. He went to grab the door know, "Damn It! It's too hot to open!" He walked towards the front of the class and continued to talk, but I was half asleep, and could care less honestly. I absolutely hated French class. I Eventually dozed off, until someone started shaking me.
"Bentlee! Get up now! We gotta go!"
I sat up, and saw the shaggy blonde hair and bright blue eyes of Trenton, one of my best friends. He looked terrified. "THE SCHOOL IS ON FIRE BENT! We have to get out of here! C'mon!" Trenton was the only person, besides myself, left in the French room, which the room was filled with smoke and small flames by the way. We walked toward the door, passing something burning on the ground. Well, someone. Mr Jacobs... You could smell his flesh as it burned, it was hard to even make out that it was him anymore. As we went into the hall, it got harder to breathe. It was engulfed in flames down the left side of the hall, and the right was just smokey, but would soon be in flames as well.
"Trent, how'd this happen? Where is everyone? Why did you stay to get me? Everyone else left. Wh-" Before I could finish, Trent grabbed me and started pulling me down the smokey hall.
"We have to get down the stairs and outside. Everyone is either outsider already or trapped somewhere.." He looked at me, smiled a little and stopped walking. "Joseph and Andi made it out okay. I promise. I told Joseph I'd get you out safely, and that's what I'm going to do." He paused and pointed at the main stairwell. "He said I better not get his sister killed! C'mon!"
"Trent? Why isnt the fire department here?" We made it down the stairs, and saw a few people running down the music hall. We followed them down the hallway, but all of the doors were locked. The ceiling was caving and, and it was smokey but no flames in sight, so that's good right? I looked at Trenton, waiting on him to answer, but he just continued running, following the other people into the auditorium.
"Bent, this isn't just a normal fire. It's a little more than that." Trenton said as he looked around at the 20 to 30 people in the room.
"What? What do you mean, Trent?" What's happening?" At this point I was scared to death. And confused. I started to look around, hoping to see some of our friends.
"Bentlee! Trenton!" I looked over to see Derek, Kennie, Sam & Mitch running over to us. "Have you seen Bella?" Derek looked about as scared as I was. He was shaking.
"Bella? No, we havent seen anyone except the people in here. Bent, let's sit down for a minute." Trent walked over to a section of seats and we all sat down and just looked at him. "Bentlee was asleep in class when we found out what was happening. She doesn't know.."
"What don't I know Trenton? Can somebody tell me what the fuck is going on? Derek?" Derek looked around at everyone, before answering.
"Uh, well.. it's kind of like an attack.."
"Excuse me? An attack? What do you mean an attack? On what? Who's attacking? What?"
"Bent, calm down" Kennie interrupted. "It's well, it's kind of hard to explain." There was an explosion and everything started to shake. "If you wouldn't sleep in class, you'd know!"
"ALIENS BENT! It's a fucking alien invasion!" Mitch finally jumped in, not sugar coating anything. "We don't know why or how, but we do know they're attacking here."
I started to feel sick to my stomach, my head hurt, the smoke was making it hard and harder to breathe as it began making its way into the auditorium. "Where are all of the adults? The teachers? Why is nobody helping us?"
"Most left. They didn't know what was going to happen or how to get out. They didn't stick around to find out either. A few stayed to help-"
"Like Mr Jacobs.." Trent interrupted Mitch to add. "But we need to figure out a plan, we can't sit here much longer."
"The teachers didn't stick around, neither should we." Sam added.
We all sat quiet for a few minutes, not knowing what to actually do. Just trying to think of a way put, that didn't involve aliens or fire I guess. I looked up, and saw Joseph and Andi walking over to us. Their clothes were all ripped and burned, and they were covered in scratches. I got up and ran over to my brother and hugged him, then Andi. "Where were you?" I Asked him, worried.
"We followed the French class outside. We saw Bella, Tayler, Benji and a few others"
"Bella?! Is she okay? Where is she?" Derek got up and walked over to us.
"There was a big explosion, and then another after that. We lost Bella and Tayler buy Benji, we saw him and the others make their way to the other side of the school. We ran to the band door and luckily the window was busted and we could get in but-" Joseph stopped and climbed up onto the stage and talked loudly so everyone in the auditorium could hear, "We are not the only ones in the school, they're in here now too!"
Everyone began to panic, running around. We had to get out of here but where do we go? Mitch and Sam got up and walked over to Joseph and Andi. Kennie, Derek and Trenton followed behind. We were now the only ones still left in here. The 8 of us agreed to make our way towards the side of the school still on fire, that way the aliens wouldn't be over there. The hard part is making it without being noticed.
"We should split up. Half take the stairs, the others stay on the 1st floor. We are in more danger as a group our size. We also don't have anything to protect ourselves so we need to be extremely careful." Trenton stopped walking. "Kennie, Mitch, Sam & Andi, you guys take the music staircase up, see what's going on up there, if there's another way down and out without any problems. Joseph, Bent, Derek and I will stay down here and do the same. Be safe!"
Andi and the others quickly hugged us and headed up the stairs. Trent and Joseph led us down the smokey hallway. The flames seemed to be dying down a little, but the ceiling looked as if it would collapse any second now. "I really hope they're careful up there." Trenton stopped. "Wait, did you hear that?" We all stopped and looked around. "There is something down there. It's to smokey to make out what." We cautiously continued walking down the hallway.
"Trent, I see something. Still kinda hard to make out what it is. Wait! Stop walking guys, now!" Joseph put his arm out stopping us. It was hard to see with the smoke, but there was a black figure not to far down in front of us. Suddenly there was a red Lazer, pointing directly towards Joseph.
"Jospeh! Get down!" Trenton ran over and tackled him. We all got down and crawled over to the open door by us. Whatever that thing was, it was now shooting at us.
"Derek! Guys, run! Now!" We looked around and saw Bella. She had a fire extinguisher and started spraying it in the alien thing. She then threw it at him and ran. The alien seemed phased for a quick second then went after Bella.
"Bella!" Derek cried out, as he started chasing after her. "Hey! Leave her alone!" Derek picked a book up off the ground and threw it at the alien. Trenton took off after him but it was hard to see them with all the smoke.
"Derek, what the hell is wrong with you? We have to get out of here." Trent grabbed Derek's arm. "Let's go!"
"No! It's going to kill her." Derek cried. "Where are ya', you piece of shit?" Derek took off down the hall some more, Trenton followed trying to keep up.
BANG!
"OW FUCK!" Derek cried out. "I think he fucking shot me!" Trent looked around, trying to think of a plan. He looked over to see the alien walking towards them.
Joseph and I was still waiting in the opened room, trying to listen. Kennie, Sam, Mitch & Andi came running down the stairs. Andi was holding a gun in his hand. "One of the officers' Up there." He informed us of the gun. "Dead, but I took this from him." He paused. "Where is Trenton and Derek?" We heard a loud noise down the hallway, and Andi took off towards Trenton and Derek. He saw Bella laying on the ground, not moving.
"Andi, is that you?" Trenton was in the corner by a door, holding Derek. "Over here, man!" Andi walked over towards them, while Trent continued, "It left. The alien thing. It threw Bella against the wall. It killed her, shot Derek and left.. just left.." He was struggling to talk, he was terrified...
"C'mon, get up. I'll help you get Derek and then we are getting the hell up out of here! While we was upstairs, we saw Tayler.. she's dead.." Andi helped Trent up, the picked up Derek and made their way back down the hall.
"Where's Bella?" Derek was loosing alot of blood. He knew what happened but refused to believe it. Andi and Trenton just stayed quiet until they got back.
"Andi has a gun, but that will not hold them off. There's that gun and knife shop down the street. If we can make it there, we can get some stuff." Trent explained. "Bella and Tayler are dead. Derek is hurt and if he continues to lose blood, he's going to die. Bent ; you, Sam and Mitch, go to the Kmart and get some supplies. Like food, medicine for Derek and whatever you think we need. Kennie, Andi, Joseph and I will carry Derek and make our way to the gun shop. As soon as you guys get what we need, you come straight to us. Got it?" We all nodded. Trenton came over to me and hugged me. "Please be careful okay?" I nodded and we left.
Outside was quiet and dull. The sky was Cloudy and grey. Cars were crashed, fires started, people laying everywhere, dead or almost.
"Bentlee, Now that it's just us, are you worried about Benji?" Sam asked. "Joseph and Andi said they saw him and some others run to the other side of the school but we haven't seen him" She looked over at Mitch then back at me. "Also, Trenton, he tries too hard."
We made it into the Kmart, it looked pretty normal, just empty. "Of course I'm worried about Benji, I love him. Just because we broke up doesn't mean I don't care. And I think it's cute, I like Trent." I smiled at her. We emptied our bags out to fill them with food, drinks and medicine. I noticed I had Benji's knife I'm my bag and hooked it to my belt loops. We quickly filled our bags with what we needed as everything started to shake.
"Alright, let's get the hell out of here!" Mitch yelled as he held onto Sam. "BENT! Let's go!" We quickly ran out of the store and next door to Trenton and the others. Derek continued to look worse and worse. We gave the guys the medicine and bandages to wrap Derek up and hopefully keep him alive long enough to find more help. Next to Joseph on the ground was a few knives and guns, he looked at me and tossed me one of the guns. Mitch and Sam grabbed a gun each, and Mitch also grabbed a machete. Kennie, Joseph and Trent each grabbed two guns, and Andi just kept the gun from the school and a hatchet. "This won't hold them off. There was a guy here, he left a few minutes ago. He said they started a shelter type thing down on Mayover St., by the university I believe. He gave us some directions, and said to hurry." Joseph said as he walked over to me. "Derek isn't going to make it, we can't continue to carry him."
"No! We aren't leaving him. We just gotta get a little further." I looked at Derek, he was starting to move around a little. "He'll be able to walk soon."
"I'm tired. I'm hungry. I'm sure we all are. It's getting dark, so let's just stay here for the night." Trenton said as he opened a bag of chips. We were assuming it was getting close to 9pm, and there wasn't movement outside of the store. "Sam and Mitch can sleep by the back door, Joseph and Andi can keep an eye on Derek. And Kennie, me and you will take turns keeping watch." Everyone began to move to the spots Trent said, and then Trent came over to me.
"Why is this happening?" Still confused over all of this, I sat down. Trent looked down at me and smiled.
"We don't really know. Mr Jacobs said they told them it already happened in Ohio." Trenton sat down next to me and pulled me to lay against him. "It's weird. They attack the school. Then they leave? There's nobody anywhere, no sounds. Where are these fuckers?" He looked down at me, I was almost asleep, he smiled and became quiet.
The next morning, I woke up to a big explosion. I looked around and saw Sam, Mitch and Kennie. They told me that the others went out to see what was going on. Derek came into the store, his leg must've felt better. "Hey girl, how you feeling?" He sat down next to me and put his arm around me. I smiled but didn't answer. I just sat there waiting on everyone to come back in. A few minutes passed, and Joseph came back in, with Andi and Trent not too far behind. Derek went over to them, slightly limping, "We ready?"
Trent nodded, "Alright guys, grab everything and let's go." We all got up, grabbed our things and followed Trent outside. "That explosion came from Kmart. I think they're on to us, so we need to be to and be careful." Trent was always the leader type. Even when he was scared or nervous, he took charge when needed.
"This is going to be a long damn day." Joseph sighed as we walked along the long abandoned road.
We made it to the White Castles down the street, without seeing or hearing anything. Just a little over half way to the shelter. We turned down a side street and a few of the houses were on fire. Trenton and Joseph stopped at and alley and looked around. "There's 2 of them down there" Joseph pointed at the end of the alley as Trenton signaled for us to follow him. He led us into one of the houses, and the 2 aliens started shooting at us. When we got into the house, Sam and Mitch, Kennie and I, ran down to the basement. You could hear Andi, Trent, Joseph and Derek fighting the aliens, or trying to at least. I don't understand Derek or what made him think he should be fighting aliens with his leg messed up. But that's just how he's always been, a fighter. You could hear one of them being thrown against a piano and then the basement door. All I could think about was then getting hurt.
Andi came running down the stairs. "We gotta go! Derek, Trent and Joseph are distracting them so I can get you guys out. Mitch, Kennie, stay next to the girls." We followed him up the stairs, Kennie next to me and Mitch next to Sam. When we got upstairs, we could hear the guys but couldn't see them. "Get outside! Hurry!" Andi quickly shoved us out of the whole in the wall where a door use to be. "Just run to the end of the street and we will catch up! Go!"
"Andi wait!" I was to late, he was already gone. We began running down the street. We could still here the noise from the house. There was yelling, gun shots and little explosions. I hope they're okay! I thought to myself. I looked over at everyone, and you could tell they're thinking the same thing. We all stopped and looked down at the house, searching for the guys. We saw something or someone fall off the balcony and then three people running out of the house towards us.
"DEREK!!!" I cried. At this point you could see who the three were running towards us ; Andi, Joseph and Trent. That means Derek fell off the balcony. "Derek! Get up, c'mon!" Not even five seconds after I yelled for him, the piano we heard went flying off the balcony onto him. We could hear Derek groan. We all stood there, not knowing what to do. Derek stopped making noises, it just grew silent. Tears started to fall down my face as I just stood there. Everyone Else was sitting behind a giant rose bush next to me. Kennie grabbed my arm and pulled me over to the group. We just sat there, quietly, waiting for the aliens to leave. I looked around at everyone. They had no facial expressions, just blank stares. "Derek is dead..." I started to cry. Trenton peaked around the bush and saw the aliens walking around, searching for us.
"We should be close to the shelter." Trent whispered, still watching them. "Just a little further down the street and we should be there. Stay quiet and stay low." He turned back to us, and we all stood up.
"We can't just leave him here!" Joseph said. Trent turned to him, he didn't look the same. There was anger in his eyes I've never seen before.
"He's dead! Let's go." Joseph looked at Trent, disgusted of his response. We all followed him down the street, quiet and careful to not be noticeable. It looked mostly normal, None of the houses burning, but no people. Cars were parked in front of the houses, some with the keys still in them. As we got further and further down the street, that changed. Houses completely burned down, trees knocked over, too many bodies to count.
"Sami, c'mon!" Mitch turned to his girlfriend, stopped in the middle of the road. "What are you doing?" Sam didn't answer, she just pointed to where the aliens just were. "Holy fuck." There were about 8 aliens heading towards us, they were pretty far back but for sure would catch up soon.
"There's the end of the street, we go right. Hurry before they catch up." Joseph turned to us and continued. "If they follow us to the shelter, everyone will end up like Derek, Bella, all of these people. We will go left and find a place to hide until they're gone." We continued walking to the end of the street. We are about a football field ahead of them, but they're catching up quickly.
How the hell did this happen? I thought to myself. I just wanted to sleep through French class, but noooo, aliens fucking happened.
"Where are you guys going?" Kennie asked Sam and Mitch who started going right, instead of left, at the end of the street.
"We're tired of these fucking aliens. We're getting to the shelter as fast as we can." Sam said as they continued walking away.
"They're going to get killed." Trenton said as he led the rest of us down a dark alleyway. It's about 8pm now, and this has been going on since 2pm yesterday. We were worn out. Trenton looked back down the alley way and saw the group of aliens run past. We continued walking until we came up to a garage that looked unlocked. Andi and Joseph opened it, and we went in to wait.
"In the morning, we will head to the shelter. Hopefully Sam and Mitch made it there safely. The aliens must've not landed near here because there isn't very many and we haven't seen any ships." Andi explained. "The air force must be taking care of that or something right? That's why nobody has came to look for us or killed those ones right?"
"Yeah, that's why.." Kennie said laughing. "Or everyone is dead. It's like one of those fucked up movies. I'm going to get some sleep." He walked over to a recliner in the back of the garage and layed down.
"Bent, ignore him. I'm going to get some rest as well. Goodnight." Andi walked over by Kennie and layed down on the floor. Trent, Joseph and I sat on a couch next to the recliner. Joseph got up about 10 minutes later to shut the door to the garage, and then kissed my forehead and layed down near Andi and went to sleep.
Trent layed back on the couch and I layed my head on his chest. We sat there silent for a few minutes. "I still don't understand..." I said, looking up at Trent.
"Noone does Bent. Now get some sleep, please?" He replied. I didn't know what else to say, so I just layed there and closed my eyes and went to sleep.
The next morning I woke up to Andi shoving me awake. "Bent, get up. Joseph and Trent went into the house to find food and to see if they could find jackets, it's starting to rain."
"Any aliens? Or people?" I got up and peeked out of the window. Andi shook his head no, and went over to wake Kennie up. A few minutes later Joseph and Trent came back into the garage. They both had some food, and a few different jackets with them.
"The electricity is still on apparently. Joseph, you going to share that toast with us. Or do we get stuck with these mush of bananas and stale cereal?" Kennie laughed as Joseph walked over with a plate holding about 7 pieces of toast. Trenton laughed tossing the box of cereal at Kennie, and handing Andi the slightly brown bananas.
"You know, I thought about sharing with you, but figured me and Bent would just eat it all in front of you." Joseph joked back, handing me the plate of toast. I smiled and tossed a piece over to Kennie. I offered some to Trenton and Andi, but they both turned it down. Joseph smiled, "More for us then, huh?"
"Yeah." I laughed. "But when are we leaving?"
"As soon as we finish, Bentlee." Trenton said tossing me one of the jackets. I put it on right away. It started to storm and it became cold quick. We finished eating, grabbed our things and started down the alley back towards the shelter. The rain was freezing and it was extremely windy. As we neared the end of the alley, we saw red lights in the distance. Aliens! We had to hurry. Thankfully they couldn't see us yet because of the rain. We quickly ran down the street, almost to the shelter. We were drenched and freezing cold.
"There it is!" Joseph yelled. The shelter was just a few feet away. Hopefully Sami, Mitch and Beni are safe inside. Joseph looked behind us and saw the red lights about 60 feet away. He opened the gate to the shelter and we all quickly ran inside. "It's quiet, where do we go?" We all shrugged. Joseph led us down a long, quiet hallway, towards a door. He tried to open it but it was locked. "What do we do?"
"Knock?" I replied, walking closer to the door. Joseph knocked and we heard some noise coming from inside. An old man opened the door carefully and looked at us.
"You're those kids from the gun shop. Come in" He opened the door and let us in. There had to be about 100 people here. The old man informed us that there were more people at other shelters and showed us the lists of people for each shelter. We searched the lists for Sam and Mitch, luckily they were in this room. Benji, Seth, Chris and Kevin were also here. We started sear him the large room for them and eventually found them in the back on the floor. Sami saw us and ran up to hug me.
"I'm so glad you made it. We were so worried. Benji is here. He's okay." Sam hugged me tighter. I laughed and pushed her off gently.
"I know, I saw the list. I'm glad you guys are okay. Don't do that again. You could've gotten killed." I replied.
"There's a couple Aliens headed this way. I don't think they saw us though." Kennie said as he was wringing out his shirt and jacket.
"The military is handling it, I think. Well, I hope. But it's happening everywhere. Just imagine how much there is out there. Who would've thought there would be an alien invasion?" Kevin paused. "What if it's like one of those movies? You shut down the mothership and they'll surrender?" We all looked at him like he was crazy, but he had a point.
"Or the aliens are controlled by the military and they're watching our every move." Seth added.
"Seth, shut up." Chris said, smacking Seth in the back of the head. "Kevin has a point." Seth lowered his head as Chris continued. "Does anyone know where their ship even is? Did you guys see anything?"
"Yeah, I did." Benji said as he started to stand up. I was standing relatively close to Trenton, and I could just sense him tensing up. I looked over at Joseph, who wasn't very happy it was Benji who was speaking. "It was back by the school. All of us guys can go back. I'll show you where it's at."
"I'm staying here with Sami and Bent." Mitch intervened.
"I'd also feel better if Chris and Seth stayed here with them." Joseph said. Trenton also nodded in agreement. "And If you fuck us over, I'll kill you myself." He glared at Benji and then walked over to Seth and Chris. "There's 2 guns over in Kennie's jacket. You protect my damn sister." Chris and Seth nodded. Joseph came over to me, hugged me and then joined Benji, Kennie, and Kevin at the door. Trenton walked over to me and held me in his arms.
"Be careful, Trent. And make sure my brother is too. I don't know what I'll do if anything happens to you guys! So please, be careful." A tear started to run down my face. Trent wiped it off and hugged me tightly.
"We will, don't worry. And whatever happens, don't leave this shelter Ben-"
"Come On Trent!" Joseph interrupted. Trenton quickly kissed me and then left with the others. I just stood there in shock.
"Bent, come sit down." Sam said motioning me over to her. I walked over and sat down.
"I didn't think our first kiss would be right before he goes out to try and save the world" I laughed and Sami did too.
"Come on, let's get some sleep." Sam curled up next to Mitch and fell asleep.
"You hungry?" Chris asked walking over to me. I nodded and he sent Seth to grab something for me to eat. "They'll be okay."
"It's Benji leading them there. Benji. You know how he is, you guys were bestfriends." I replied, rolling my eyes.
"I know Bent, I'm sorry. But he's telling the truth, I think. And he wouldn't get them hurt. He wouldn't have the chance before Joseph beats the crap put of him." We both laughed at the truth to that statement. Joseph was very protective of me, and absolutely hates Benji.
"Here you go, your highness." Seth said tossing me a bag of chips and bottle water.
"Thanks." I smirked. This was the first thing I've had to eat since we woke up, and it was already late. The guys have been gone for hours. Seth went and layed down towards the door. Chris and I just sat there, talking about the guys, and everything that's happened. We both finally fell asleep a few hours later.
When we finally woke up, everyone was up talking or eating. They guys have been gone for so long now, probably 9 hours. I was extremely worried. I walked over to the table where Sam, Mitch, Chris & Seth were. They had breakfast bars, bananas and water bottles at the table. I grabbed a banana and sat down next to Chris.
"I wonder if they made it." Chris said, looking around at everyone. Literally seconds after he said that, there was a huge explosion outside, causing everything to shake. I grabbed Chris and pulled him closer to me. "Bentlee, get ready to run."
"What?" I Asked. Before Chris could respond, another huge explosion happened. The old man who let us in got up and went to the door to see what was happening. Everyone just sat there quietly, waiting. A few minutes passed and nothing happened. The old man went to open the door and BOOM! What seemed to be a mistle crashed into the shelter. Alien after alien came rushing in, shooting at everyone. Mitch, Sam and Seth took off down one hallway, while Chris led me down another.
"Ahhh!" We could hear Sam, Mitch and Seth yell In horror. The screams followed gunshots, and then nothing. I stopped running and just stood there. Chrisngrabbed my arm and pulled me. There were a couple Aliens headed towards us.
"Bentlee, let's go!" Chris yelled as he pulled me again. We continued running down the hall until we got to a staircase heading down to the basement. We quickly made our way down and hid behind a huge pillar. There were people running around above us, aliens shooting at them, and then silence. Everything started shaking. I buried my head into Chris's chest as things began to fall everywhere. A few minutes later there was another explosion. Whatever it was, took out most of the shelter. The ceiling began caving in on us. Chris covered my head as we just sat there with nowhere to go. Chris searched for a way put and as soon as he did, he grabbed my arm and pulled me to my feet.
"RUN BENTLEE!" Chris yelled, pointing to an opening that led back upstairs. I took off running, Chris followed close behind until a piece of the ceiling fell between us.
"Chris!" I yelled, turning back towards him.
"Go Bent." More fell down around him. "I love you, now go. Please?" He begged. A Huge piece of the ceiling then fell right on top of him, crushing him.
"Chris, no!" I cried. I just froze. Pieces of the ceiling continued falling around me. All of my closest friends, Derek, Mitch, Sami, Seth and now Chris. All dead. I finally got myself together and made my way upstairs before the rest collapsed. All but this one hall was destroyed. That was it. Just one hall. I looked around and everyone I saw was either dead or almost. Including the aliens. I made my way around everything and back to the street. I began walking back to the garage we hid at. Hoping to find something letting me know Trent, Joseph, Andi, Kennie, Kevin and Benji were okay. It was silent, other than the drops of rain. No people, no aliens. Just me and the rain. I turned down the alley where the garage is and heard talking. As I got closer, I saw the door was open a bit. The guys! I pushed the door open more but It fell back down.
"Hello?" Andi got up and opened the door more. "BENTLEE!" He quickly hugged me and welcomed me in. When I walked into the garage, Kennie ran over to me and hugged me tight. Both Andi and Kennie began asking me a bunch of questions about what's happened. I ignored them. Focusing on finding Trenton and my brother. I didn't even notice that Kevin and Benji weren't here either.
"Trent and Joseph are inside getting more food." Kennie said.
"We were in our way back to the shelter when the mistles hit. We found the ship though, it's out front." Andi explained.
"What? What do you mean it's out front?" I asked, confused.
"Benji and Kevin. They, uh, they somehow knew how to fly it." Kennie added.
"They didn't just know how to fly it, they launched the mistles, Bent. They weren't themselves. I think something bad, something we don't know about, happened while they were at school when all of this first happened." Andi continued. "They knew aliens were headed to the shelter. They said the mistles would hit wherever any aliens were. They were trying to kill you guys. Mainly you."
"Great, so not only do I have aliens to worry about, 2 of my insane ex boyfriends teamed up to try and kill me?" I was so annoyed. And confused on what went so wrong for them to want to kill me? "Where are they now?" As soon as I asked, Trent and Joseph walked in. They sat the food on the table and looked up at me.
"Bent." Joseph said, confused. He rushed over to hug me. "I'm so glad you're okay. I was worried." He looked over at Trenton. He was just standing there, eating a sandwich. He didn't seem to care I was here. "Where's the others?" Joseph asked as he sat down on the couch.
"Um, Sami, Mitch and Seth were running away from the aliens and turned down the wrong hall. The aliens killed them. Chris and I was hiding in the basement when the mistle hit and the ceiling began caving in. Chris saved me life." I replied. "Where's Benji and Kevin?" I looked around at everyone, waiting for an answer but Joseph, Kennie and Andi all looked away.
"Dead." Trent glared over at me. "I'm sure Andi was about to tell you before we walked in. They tricked us. They wanting to kill you. They were trying to kill you. Kevin said some things about you that he probably shouldn't have so Joe slit his throat. Benji agreed with Kevin, said that if they did this, they would be safe or some bull crap, I Don't really remember."
"What happened to Benji, Trent?" I Asked. Trenton did not seem like his normal self. There was so much anger in his eyes, in his voice.
"I put a bullet in his head. There was more to it, but let's just leave it at that, okay? You're safe, so I suppose that's all that matters." He turned to the guys and continued. "Let's eat so we can get the hell out of here."
Andi, what's he mean?" I Asked. I was confused, Andi didn't answer. He just shook his head and began to eat. A few seconds later Kennie walked over to me.
"Here." Kennie handed me a piece of toast and a water. "Before the launched those mostles, Benji said something about you and him were talking about getting back together. He said he's glad you are probably dead because you are nothing more than a whore. Then that's when he said the thing about him being safe or whatever. Then Trent shot him. Go talk to him, Bent. Benji and Kevin planned this. In a few minutes, we are getting on that ship and leaving. Benji said they had to do it because there is a station and there's not enough room for everyone. But once we get there, they will separate us. You talk to him now or never Bent." He got up and walked over to Trenton and then sent him over to me.
"Hey." Trent said as he sat down next to me. "Kennie and Joseph are going to figure out how to get us to the station."
"We wasn't getting back together, Trent. Me and Benji were done." I assured him. He rubbed my face and smiled.
"I know. I'm glad you're okay" He kissed my forehead. "It's just me, you, Kennie, Andi and Joseph now. We're safe and that's all that matters right now. I know we lost some great friends but we will see them again one day." Trenton said, trying to comfort me. He looked over at the guys and continued. "You guys ready?" They all nodded. We all walked out from and boarded the ship. We all quickly got buckled in. Joseph and Kennie sat at the controls, ready to get us out of here. Andi was buckled up in the seat next to me. Trent double checked my buckle and then sat down and quickly buckled in himself.
"Okay guys, we're taking off in 3, 2, 1." Joseph counted down and the ship began to take off. We was on our way to a new place for a new start. Trenton grabbed my hand and held it tight.
"I love you, Bentlee Lane." Trenton said, smiling at me. We didn't know what would happen next but we had each other, and that was okay.
"I love you too, Trenton Basker."
