Pain

All I feel is pain.

Unbearable, unforgiving, malicious pain.

Fire is raging like a wildfire through my body. Lava is making it's way slowly through my veins.

I can't escape it.

No matter how loud I scream, how hard I clench my fists, or how still I become,

It doesn't go away.

It feels like it's been weeks, months, years. I think this pain is here to stay.

But I deserve it.

The only comfort I get is the sound of my dying heart. The steady rythm it makes as it struggles to keep me alive.

Thud, thud, thud

They say in your dying moments your life flashes before your eyes. In my case my eyes are closed.

They are always closed.

I don't want the bleak washed out tan stone's of my killers home to be my last sight before I leave this world forever.

But it's true you know. My life did flash before my closed eyes, but in that moment I had one thought,

'I'm glad I'm dying.'

My heart increasing in volume but slowing down interrupts my thoughts.

Thud...thud...thud...

I feel the fiery pain starting to leave my toes and then my feet.

Thud.....thud.....thud.....

My legs are free from the fire next and then it's my torso.

Thud........thud........thud........

My hands, arms, and shoulders feel like they've been lifting the sky for over a millennium.

Thud...............thud...............thud........

Strangely through this all; as the fire leaves the rest of my body, agonizingly slow, the fire just burns hotter and hotter in my throat.

Again the sound of my heart  taking it's final attempt to revive me, avertes my attention.

Thud

'I'm glad I'm dying,' I think again.

Thud

I was never seen in this life I was always unseen.

Thud

And then....

Nothing.
