"Breakin' down, and comin' undone,
It's a roller coaster kinda rush,
And I never knew I could feel that much,
And that's the way I loved you.""It's ten minutes past curfew!" She exclaims to me.
I cringe at the anger and mentally roll my eyes. Ten minutes?
"Al dropped me off because of the rain, but I got held up." I try to explain.
Her eyes narrow, suspicious written across her features. "Held up by what?" She questions. "Or I say who?"
My shoulders slack from their defense position. How does she know?
"Tobias." I mumble.
She shakes her head and guide me to the stairs. "You need to stop hanging out with him. He's a bad influence and I don't like the vibes I get from him." She places a piece of hair behind my ear. "I just want what's best for you."
No, you just want me to the perfect little sister to the perfect older brother so you don't have to unleash your 'bad' side. My mother was the worst when it came to punishments.
I nod, and give her a quick hug before running up the stairs.
I change quickly into something comfortable to sleep in, then lay on my bed, under my covers, starring at the ceiling.
I never understood why she didn't like Tobias. With him being one of our neighbors, she would see him in his house, arguing with his father. It wasn't his fault, but she thought that his negativity would change me.
He did change me, but for the better. He always told me how beautiful I was, and that there was nothing that compared to me. Those small, simple words that he would whisper to me as we fell asleep in each other's arms were one of the best things I'd ever heard. They always made me feel more confident, and that I was worth something.
The first time he kissed me, was on our first date. I was nervous, for the last date I had been on was with Peter, an asshole who did it for a laugh.
Tobias held my hand when we walked into his house, and led me up the stairs to his room. In the small room, he had created a somewhat perfect romantic dinner. He pulled his desk to the middle of the room, and used the desk chair and a dining room chair with salads and hamburgers from Wendy's.
I'd asked of his intentions, and he told me how intrigued he was by me. Me being me, I blushed furiously.
We ate out meal, and basically played twenty questions, asking each other about our favorite color, food, movie, etc. Bonding over chocolate cake, alternative music, and a few action movies, I immediately began to trust him.
We watched a movie on his bed, and as I was nervous at first, he acted completely calm, like it was totally normal to have an almost stranger laying only a few inches away from you on your bed.
I was tense for the first half of the movie, until he silently slid his hand in mine, immediately sending sparks through out my body. I somehow felt alive, and had a sense of courage and comfort swell within me. it was a feeling unknown to me previously.
I looked up at his dark eyes and he turned to look at me. We stared at each other for a moment, soaking up each other's presence. He was breathtaking.
He leaned in, and I found myself leaning in as well, and as soon as our lips touched, I was a goner.
My hands found his waist and his found my neck and we kissed for a while. It was slow and perfect, everything I'd ever wanted in a kiss.
I sigh, and settle deeper into the covers. How could I have let him go?
