Disclaimer: I obviously did not live in the 1950s, so this story will obviously not be 100% accurate in terms of how the characters talk and some of the events that occur.
BUT, I did do A LOT of research on teenagers and life in the time period prior to writing this story and I continue to research more and more as I write each chapter, so the story will actually be relatively accurate, which I am extremely excited about.
ALSO, I just want to point out that this story is set in 1950s Chicago. There were a wide variety of ethic street gangs at the time and the people living there weren't exactly fond of the gangs. The gangs in this story are Italian and Irish gangs, which were chosen based on HISTORY that I RESEARCHED, not simply because I wanted to pick those two groups lol. Characters opinions and actions do not necessarily reflect my own.
