Regardless of your whereabouts Lya, I always stayed in your dreams.  Wherever the last setting took place is where I would remain until you returned and decided to change it.

I paced up and down the yellow stairs trying to find some kind of meaning to your mind.  Unfortunately the staircase was never ending, but I did come across other entities.  Human shaped, shadow like beings flowed in and out of the walls.  They seemed to communicate amongst us eachother but looked at me like a stranger was I not like the rest of them?  Once I reached a landing, I took a step back and attempted to walk through a wall...it didn't work.

Joe drove you home from work that day, and walked you up to your apartment, you walked ahead of him.  It was obvious you didn't care for his banter about his neighbor's new car or his raccoon problem, you just wanted to go home.  You reached the door before him, your look of boredom changed to alarm when you saw a piece of paper taped to your door, you snatched it off, and stuffed it into your purse before he could see.

"Looks like we're here!" Joe smiled cheerfully

"Yup" You said as you quickly reached for your key, before you could unlock the door he grabbed your arm.  You looked up at him in annoyance but again, hid it with a forced smile.
"Yes?"  You said inbetween your teeth.

"I was wondering when we would go on our date".  He smirked, I cringed as your smile became more forced.

"Tomorrow."  You said

"Great! See you then, he leaned down and kissed you on the cheek then walked down the hall.  The moment he turned the corner you wiped off the kiss and aggressively pushed your door open, locked it, then lied on your bed in a sigh of relief.  Then you took the eviction notice and shoved it into the trash can along with the other notices.

You heated up some ramen, watched some Netflix then went to bed, but not before tossing and turning.  At one point you even got up and began pacing, talking to yourself, looking up quick ways to make money but eventually gave up and got in the bed again.  What made you so nervous?  The eviction notice?  Or me?  The tossing and turning continued, throwing blankets off your cot then picking them back up again, flipping your from cold to warm then cold again.  Then finally ... finally you fell asleep.
