Freedom Flowey

Lili sat up and glanced around, ears ringing from the impact. She turned to face the source of her pain- a tall, yellow flower, complete with thin but apparently strong arms. Lili felt like screaming. Falling down into this place had hurt enough, she didn't exactly need to be thrown around a room like a Frisbee. And by a FLOWER no less. Flowers weren't meant to have arms! They weren't meant to have green whip-like tendrils, trailing from the back of their stem. Flowers weren't meant to be able to talk, to laugh, to scoff. They were meant to be grown, admired and eventually picked and discarded!

But apparently this underground cavern-place had no sort of physics, no law stopping the whole world descending into madness. Lili squinted at the flower. Was he saying something? Mouthing something? Shaking her head to try and get rid of the ringing, Lili glanced back at him and tried to decipher what he was saying.

"You came back here, after all this time? All this time, you showed mercy to me and left? The Underground is in chaos now, I've been chased and hunted-"

Lili stood up on shaky legs, wincing slightly at his loud voice.

"I'm sorry- do I know you?"

The flower paused mid word and froze, looking at her. He burst out laughing.

"Do you know me? Frisk, seriously? You have the guts, after all this time, to say that to me?"

Lili groaned before taking a breath.

"I don't know who Frisk is! And, I'm sorry, but I don't particularly care either!"

Flowey turned to look at her again, opening and closing his mouth in confusion. Lili took the chance and ran ahead, past him and through a door. She didn't hear any signs of the flower pursuing her so she paused to take a breath, leaning against the wall. She glanced around the room she was in. The doorway she just came through on one side of the room, a closed doorway on the opposite side, buttons on the floor. Apparently, people down here didn't care much for décor.

Lili groaned, putting her head in her hands. What mess had she got herself into this time?

After a few moments, she lifted up her head and jumped, spotting a petaled face directly in front of hers. She grabbed a wrench from her toolbelt and held it in front of her, cursing herself mentally for not thinking of it earlier.

The flower reached out his hand, ignoring the wrench and smiled.

"It appears we got off on the wrong note- my name is Flowey! Flowey the flower! I see you're new to the Underground, hm?"

Lili squinted, raising her eyebrow and lowering her wrench.

"Not trying to murder me anymore?"

Flowey chortled, shaking his- head? (It was on his stem, so it must be his head...)

"Goodness no, I just mistook you for someone else! They tried to murder me once, so it was merely me preemptively striking. Ya know, offense is the best defence as they often say!"

Lili sighed, standing up and readjusting her tool-belt, slipping the wrench back inside.

"Really?"

"Really!" Flowey responded indignantly. "To prove it to you, how about I do you a favour!"

Lili thought for a moment before putting stretching her arms above her head, yawning. 'I don't trust him, but he's the best bet I got... ' She thought.

"Can you help me get back out of here? I'm not entirely sure if I wish to see anymore of this place...."

Flowey cocked his head (?) sideways.

"Well, I'm afraid there is no easy way out. There is no easy way out... unless-"

Lili jerked her head upwards.

"Unless? Unless what?"

Flowey looked sad for a moment before speaking again.

"There is one exit- on the other side of the Underground. In King Asgore's castle."

"King? You have a monarchy.... huh. Did not expect that."

"Yes, we have a full political system down here- we're not animals you know." Flowey grinned, the golden tipped tendrils behind him waving excitedly.

"Apparently not, you're flowers-" Lili mumbled under her breath, before clearing her throat and speaking. "Would this... King, by any chance, mind helping me leave this place?"

Flowey nodded, that wide grin still on his face.

"The old geezer is a teddy bear, a genuine teddy bear. The old geezer should be no problem for you. HE is not the problem. Other monsters however.... well, not everyone is as kind as me. Monsters are not forgiving creatures by nature. MONSTERS never forget."

Lili wilted (haha, funny pun) before taking a deep breath.

You see the a long and tedious challenge ahead of you, yet you feel ready for it. You feel Perseverance coursing through your veins.

"That's fine," She said, not noticing Flowey flinching slightly. "I just need to get through this place... there doesn't seem to be too many people down here anyway-"

She paused as Flowey began laughing, the high pitched giggle coming somewhere from inside his impossibly placed mouth. Lili looked up at him, realising that the only person who could guide her through this place was talking flower who talked and laughed like some villain from a bad Disney movie.

Somewhere, deep inside Lili's mind, a voice spoke.
