(A/N: Well I hope you like it!! -Storywriter19)
"I'm sorry Cabela, but your grandma is right. You need interaction with other people your age and not animals. We just want what's best for you." My mom said as she drove me to the small one plane air field on the outskirts of the village.
Since I was a young girl, I grew up with animals as my friends. My mom and dad were researchers and studied many animals. I have never been to school and never really been to places where there were girls my age that could speak the same language. Now that I was going into high school, my grandma insisted that I go to a boarding school. One problem was I was 19 and I was just now going into high school.
I've seen enough movies to know that I was going to be the odd ball. It's not that I was dumb. It was actually the opposite. I just spent more time outside the RV than I did inside with books.
"Come along Cabela, we mustn't keep the plane waiting. Say your farewells." My grandma said as she disappeared into her private jet. I sighed and looked at my mom.
"Please don't make me do this mom. I can do online classes." I said begging her for the hundredth time today.
"It's been settled dear. You're going to America for proper schooling and socialization." My mom kissed me and walked over to the trunk and grabbed my bags.
"Dad, please! You know I don't belong there! Please I beg you!" I hated the idea of going to school.
"I'm sorry dear. Your mother is right. Besides Jaxon will be there in a few weeks." He kissed me and nudged me towards the plane. I sighed and grabbed my carry on. My little brother, Jaxon, sniffed and hugged my hips.
"See you soon. Then we can hang out again." He wiped his eyes and hugged me one more time.
"See ya, Jax. But in the meantime, stay into those books so you can blow those kids out of the water with your knowledge." I said flashing a glare towards my parents. Without another word to my parents, I walked onto the plane. I was mad that they were sending me away. I shouldn't have to go through this.
The flight was long and exhausting. My grandma kept badgering me about how I sat and ate and breathed. I was so glad to be out of that small space. One problem; I now had to attend school.
I had to wear a uniform. It was a red plaid skirt with a white under shirt and blue blazer. One of the rules was for my hair to be pulled back into a bun, but it was too short to pull back. It was shoulder length but still.
"Name?" The girl asked monotone.
"Cabela Sanders." I said.
"Huh, that's a weird name." The lady said as she flipped through papers.
"It fits me." I mumbled. The lady handed me my schedule, allowing me to go find my dorm. It was in the Prince Hall dorm building; third floor. Girls watched as I walked down the hall. Their hair was in perfect buns. The kind you would see ballerinas wear. My hair was in a ponytail with my bangs in barrettes. I found my dorm room and tried the key.
When I walked in I found a girl who was hanging a picture of some band. I set my stuff on the bed that wasn't being used to hold clothes. It wasn't a small dorm but it wasn't large.
"Oh good you're here! Can you hand me the tape right there?" The girl asked. I grabbed the tape and tossed it to her. "Thanks!"
"Who are they?" I asked looking at the four punk looking guys on a stage.
"5 Seconds of Summer. Haven't you heard of them?" The girl asked. Her hair was a brown color and her eyes were a chocolate brown.
"I don't know much about music or anything really. I know animals but the things that are popular in regular society aren't of my knowledge." I said walking over to my bed.
