18 years ago:

Ron took the chain off and threw it to a nearby chair. "What are you doing?" He asked Hermione. "What do you mean?" She asked. "Are you staying or what?" "I.... Yes, yes, I'm staying. Ron, we said we would go with Harry. We said we'd help-" "I get it. You choose him." "Ron, no. Please, come back, come back!" Hermione cried out. She followed him out of the tent. "He's g-g-g-one! He dissapparated!" She sobbed, when she came in. Harry stood there watching her cry for most of the night."I can't believe he's gone," Hermione sobbed, still from last night. She lost her best friend, Ron Weasley, over a silly argument between her, Ron, and her other best friend, Harry Potter. That stupid horcrux was the cause of all this. "It's okay Hermione. If he wanted to leave, let him," Harry said, his voice both sad and filled with anger. "No Harry, its not! He left me!" Hermione's eyes shone with anger.  "Its okay, calm down. It can only get better," Harry reassured her. "Oh Harry!" Hermione said, throwing her sobbing self into his arms. "Shush, there there. Its okay," Harry said, stroking her hair. Hermione looked at him closely. "Thanks for being there Harry," Hermione said. Then, much to his surprise, she reached out and kissed him. Not just a friendly sort of kiss. This kiss held a passion of years. Harry was shocked at what he felt coming from that one kiss. "Hermione, your still dating Ron," Harry gentley reminded his friend. "When he left us here, he ended us," Hermione said. She then proceeded to kiss Harry yet again, more need and passion coming from it. "Hermione, we shouldn't do this," Harry said. "And why not?" Hermione demanded. "You only want this because of the emotions you feel about losing Ron," Harry said. "But it's just one night, and that couldn't be so wrong. Please Harry, for me?" Hermione pleaded. Harry felt awful, but gave into Hermione.

The time of the battle between Harry and Voldemort ( approximetly 4 monthes later):

Hermione counted on her fingers again. No, she couldn't be. How many monthes had passed? And she hadn't noticed she was late? This wasn't good. "Hermione, duck!" Ron called out as a death eater sent a spell her way. Hermione moved out of the way quickly. She couldn't be, could she? After Harry defeated Voldemort, and the group talked, Hermione snuck away, to a little muggle village. She found the clinic she was looking for, and walked in. "Miss Granger? I have the results," A kind muggle nurse said. Hermione took in a deep breath, and walked back into the room. Oh dear, this definatly wasn't good. What to tell the others? She knew she would have to make something up. She quickly thought of telling them she was going to look for her parents. Yes that would work. She stayed in muggle villages, out of sight, until she left the newborn girl at the nearest orphange she could find. Then she went back to life as it had formerly been, eventually forgetting about little Emma Jo.
