WHEN Feodora had stepped in Valentina's office that night, she knew that she neither of them would get no sleep again. Over the usual noise coming from downstairs, Valentina had explained to Feodora exactly what had happened in the meeting between her and Kaz. In the late hours of the night, the girls had made the rounds of the gambling tables. However their main reason was to find Theoden as they had to discuss how things were going to proceed from now on.

They had found him deep in a game at the tables and had to drag him away. He had complained the whole time they were walking back to Valentina's office. By the time they had gotten him to sober up and pay attention to them, the sky was already lightning up.

It was mid morning by the time they Feodora and Theoden left Valentina's office. All the details were set and everyone knew what they were going to be doing.

After she had closed the door behind her friends, she could not help but think of her father. She would give anything for his advice but she was not in a position to undertake a trip to Novyi Zem, where he had retired.

Over at the Crow Club, Kaz had returned and had immediately shut himself up in his office. He had kept his cool during the meeting with Valentina but he had hated being taken by surprise by Valentina. Nevertheless, he had gone back to the Crow Club a little wiser. It had taken him an over an hour to sort his thoughts.

He had sent one of his crows to find Jesper. His wait was not long and Jesper had rapidly made his up to Kaz's office.

'You better have had a good reason to have called me up here because I was in an intense game of cards and this time I know I could have won,' said Jesper sitting down in front of Kaz's desk. He then proceeded to put his feet on the desk. Kaz grabbed his cane and whacked Jesper's shins away from his desk.

'Excuse me?!' he exclaimed.

'I've told you many times to stop putting your legs up on my desk. You bring up dirt,' he said.

Massaging his shins Jesper grumbled a 'yes boss' under his breath.

'Now I know that you have many questions concerning where I've been and I will be answering them all, but first I need you to do something for me,' said Kaz. He didn't wait for Jesper to reply and just went on, 'I need you to go out and spread the word that we have reached a truce with the Valentina's Dragons.'

It took Jesper a couple of seconds to register what Kaz had said, 'Come again?'

'Jes, I will not repeat myself three times. Go outside, talk to our members, to our allies and tell them that we have entered a truce with the Dragons. No one should get in a fight with them,' he said with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
