Sixteen: The Quinceañero

"Why do I hear sheep but don't see sheep?" Ashlyn asks.

"Oh, that's Jimmy. He has social anxiety" Seb answers.

"Well, I'm team Jimmy. I don't camp, I don't glamp, I don't even sleep without a silk pillow case" Kourtney says making us all giggle.

One of the sheep make a noise causing EJ to scream and I bust out laughing which makes him give me a dirty look.

"Listen, I'm sure Seb and Gina have a good reason for bringing us to his barn so late, on a school night. Not that I mind the romantic setting" Ricky says.

"Romantic is debatable. But I like where you're headed" Nini smirks.

"Okay, so, we gathered you guys here tonight 'cause I've got this idea. And because we only have 48 hours to pull it off, it's gonna take all of us" Gina says.

"The whole family" Seb smiles.

"Aw, you guys"

"So, I talked to Gina and we thought we could throw a big surprise party to celebrate the guy Carlos is" Seb says.

"And a quinceanero he always wanted and never got. It's a birthday party but seriously zhuzhed up. 'Cause Carlos is one of the good guys"

We're all silent for a moment.

"Okay, somebody say something because maybe this is a terrible idea?" Seb says questioningly.

"It's an amazing idea. I'm in!" Nini says.

"I'm down!"

"Absolutely!" I pop in.

"For Carlos" Ricky says.

"For Carlos!"

A little update, its been a couple weeks since EJ and I kissed and became something the most special thing I've ever had. He's absolutely amazing and so sweet. Nothing new but it's in a different way now.

We decided to keep us a little secret for awhile, just so we can can enjoy each other without people knowing, and honestly for the fun of it too. I will say that I told my family, including Ashlyn. Ashlyn is my best friend, no matter what, I don't keep secrets from her.

*Flashback*

Ashlyn and I sat in my car, getting ready to head into school.

"Ash, I have something to tell you" I say.

"Oh god, what did you do now? Did you break something?" She asks.

"No" I laugh, "Are you sitting down? This is big"

She looks down at her legs and her seat confused because she was already sitting and I giggle.

"Sorry, I'm just nervous"

"About what? Seriously, what did you do?" She asks.

"I didn't do anything. Just something happened yesterday while we were stuck at school"

"Well?" She says wanting me to continue.

"Well, I went to look for EJ and um, long story short...we kissed"

"SHUT UP!" She squeals, smacking my arm repeatedly from excitement.

"Thats not all..."

"TELL ME!"

"We're also um, we're a thing now" I smile nervously.

"OH MY GOD! SHUT UP!"
