I'm y/n. I'm 15 years old. My mom and dad are fighting a lot. When I say a lot I mean it. Sometimes I get this feeling that they just forget I'm living with them. My dad's an alcoholic. And than there's my mom who can't do anything about it but still thinks she can. Let's move to reality.
I'm in my room right now, just staring at the ceiling. I mean what else am I supposed to do when I don't have any friends. I was still rethinking my whole life when I heard a loud noise downstairs. I quickly ran downstairs and saw dad on the floor. There was blood everywhere. And than I saw my mom with a broken bottle in her hands. She was telling me something, but I just couldn't listen so she started screaming. "Y/n come on we got to go"she said sobbing. "Where mom, where are we going? And what about our things? And money?" "Honey go upstairs and pack as fast as you can" she seemed scared. Why was she scared?
I ran upstairs as fast as I could. Tears were rolling down my cheeks while I was throwing all my things in bags. "Y/n are you ready? We need to go before your dad wakes up" she yelled. I didn't even answer I just ran downstairs with my bags. "But mom what about" she didn't let me finish my sentence. "You'll ask questions later." We got in the car. I was listening to music and thinking everything over. It felt like this didn't even happen. I got really bored so I thought it was the right time to ask questions. "Mom why did you do it?" "Because I needed to" she said angrily. "I thought we were a normal family. I mean dad drank sometimes and you two were fighting a lot but I was just used to it." "Oh so you thought this was fucking normal huh? Well you can go back and live with your dad princess. Be grateful, I saved your ass" said my mom. I went quiet. We were in LA. In fucking LA. "Y/n look I'm sorry. I just thought running away was the right thing to do" my mom suddenly decided to say. It's ok mom, I know. We are both freaked out right now." "Yeah and I should've told you I planned this for a long time. And I bought a house a long time ago. Your dad found out today. He wasn't very happy about it. I know that next thing you're going to ask me is does he know where we will live and the answer to that is no. He only found some papers where the address wasn't written." I decided not to answer and just look out the window. It was beautiful. Holy shit, I'm going to live in fucking LA I thought to myself.
