Today I said farewell for the final time to me most recent confidant. He, like his father and his father before him, had tried his best to be a friend, but I simply refused it. They are to be the one family to know my secret and help me keep it that way, nothing more. On his death bed he passed his secret on to his successor, as his father had done to him. For the first time in generations of his family he had no sons, leaving him to introduce me to his daughter, Jessica. Charles had asked me to keep her safe, but we both knew that was a promise that I could not keep. I can only hope that she is not as ignorant and emotional as the last line daughter of the blood line of ----. I pray that Charles now finds himself on the side of afterlife that he had fought so hard for regardless of his allegiance to me.
